A Swiss client has given us the task to rebuild to mint condition this incredible Zodiac Mark II Celebration sib. Only 100 were made and sold to different Zodiac country dealers to commemorate 100 years of Zodiac realm. This one is the 14th produced out of the 100 originally built. PVC Fabric is in excellent condition, not dried or cracked, just bit color faded.

Needs complete floor fabric, keel, upper hand grips, 6 handles, rubstrake and transom re gluing, air valve maintenances and out she goes. Has a heavy duty air deck, can be inflated with a small atached air bottle, hand or foot pump including tubes and speed tubes, has no blown internal baffles. Is a fast deploy sib, equivalent to the Milpo Mark II 420 sib.

For $ 1,200 can guarantee a total mint cond repair using German glue and hardener and imported fabric cleaners. There's a ton of hard work that needs to be done. Good news, we don't charge by hour work, charge by accomplished work. If it were yours, would you have this nice Celebration oldie 100% repaired ?

Yeah, that's the idea, probably not the whole rebuilding process, would say once is completely restored as when new. Zodiac doesn't use transom holders as found on newer sibs which are easier to clean and glue back. This one has may pvc fabric patches as seen on third pic that needs to be removed very carefully as not to damage original fabric, clean well and re glue back.

Re: Zodiac Anniversary Sib.-

Having re-glued a Zodiac already, there is no way I would do that job for less than $5,000. I had 40 hours into mine, and as someone who looks at shop billing for a living there just wouldn't be enough profit.

Hi Peter C,

You are right about US pricing if going by hour work. This guy is our long time client, profit would be low, but hartwarming to spring back to water life that nice Celebration sib. Will take our time at a slow pace to complete the whole work, it's part of the agreement.

Excessive UV Punishment

Excessive UV Punishment

Don't know about your local UV radiatiohn condition, down here most of the summer time is around 15 which is the MAX, for inflatables is the worst scenario that can happen. This 420 Rib arrived 2009 end, was kept packed for 1 year, up to date has 3 full years living at a Marina, that is exposed to solar punishment and the elements, it's kept covered with a thick cover all year long. Aerospace 707 Solar Protectant is sprayed once each month. Overall look is mint cond, but you could peel banana like lateral rubstrake, handles, oar locks and oar holders. Rope tie, end cones, logos & seams are still perfectly glued.

Riding a falling appart accesorry Rib is not a eye catching view, so a complete re gluig process was made to mentioned upper glued parts. 2 glue coats per side were applied to each accesory. Good news was that old glue was not cristalized, was gummy and tacky, perfect state for a fast clean out. Bad news was running short of cleaner solvent, some yellowish glue stains can be seen on tubes, side to glued accesories, will need to live with that...

General Data :
Marina temp 20? C
700 Ml of PVC/Polyurethane Glue and 20 Ml Hardener (Tip Top German brand)
1 Ltr cleaning solvent
4.5 total hour work
Total cost : $ 285.00 + Six Beer Pack
Ain't that sweet :D

Thats a nice cleanup job
What size motor are you using on that boat?
How much is a 6 pack?
That looks like at least a case of beer job to me

Hi Ronald,

That guy is my bussiness associate, has 35 years repairing all kinds and brands of inflatables. He's a Zodiac factory trained in France technician, so knows his work quite well. That Rib is rated for a 30 HP minimum, but runs on a 2 strokes 18 HP, plenty of power for up to 3 max boaters. A very light rib/engine combo only 150 kilos. A six pack is aroud $ 5.50.

BTW if interested, there are 6 brand new Zodiac Celebration 100 left overs available. Don't know asking price, should be costly, contact :

Canadian Inflatables Inc. RHIBS, RIBS, Rigid Inflatables
