Re: Boat bumpers
Just use the old ski belts from the 1970's....dont tell me I am the only one who still has these? We will actually still use them to jump in the water (not skiing).
70s my foot. My family started skiing in 1958. Belts were the only thing available at the time. Of course, you could buy a pair of combo skis at Sears for about $25, too, and folks skiied behind 35 hp johnnyrudes, too.
Those were the days. You could only squeeze three people in the boat my dad had, so the rest of the party had to go ashore in a cove at the lake while somone skiied, someone drove, and someone observed.
I remember being 16 years old, 6'1" tall and weighing about 150 lb....getting up on a slalom ski behind my dad's 13' boat with the 35 hp Johnson on the back. Took a while, it did.
I remember, too, teaching my girlfriend at the time, who was all of 15 years old, how to ski. That boat would actually pull two double skiiers out of the water, so I was back there helping her. We both got up and skiied off for awhile. Then, she fell, and I dropped off. But...she lost the top of her two-piece bathing suit when she fell. Hilarity ensued, for sure.
