Absolutely....great intro, great talent. I love the community of this event it really sets a great standard.:)
The 4th torch glitch is pretty forgiveable given everything else they successfully pulled off from a special effects point of view.
Beautiful stuff.....looking forward to the sports.:)

Re: Olympic opening ceremonies

Did any one notice Gretzky just about wiped out in the back of the truck a couple of times.

Loved the fact the crowd was so pumped up as he went down to the water front.

LOL It did seem to move a little slow at times. Wierd is a good word but overall it was well executed. I thought it was funny that the country's people all had cameras.

Re: Olympic opening ceremonies

Watched a little as I surfed back and forth between channels .. every time I clicked over someone was singing and the sound was horrible -- crowd noise overpowering the singers. Some of the effects I saw were really cool, some, were, well, weird to my taste.

But all in all, it was pretty neat.

Enjoyed the whole thing. The glitch just proved it was all done by human beings.

I was particularly pleased at the featured part of the native Canadian cultures. I wonder what the USA would be like if we had treated our original Americans as well as Canada has hers.

Thats the thing about the arts, its open to interpitation (not that I am an artsy fartys guy)
They tried to cover the artic, east coast and west, rolling in some native lore as well as the fiddling/dancing from the east coast. Trying to remember who sang the song origanally during the praires portion???
Anyways Vancouver is going to be one big party town for the next 16 days.

Re: Olympic opening ceremonies

Not wanting to get political or anything like that, but when did the Candian Indian tribes become now known as Aboriginal? The Indians I know from our twice yearly fishing trips still call themselves either Inidans or natives. This gets me so confused. Can I just call him Marty? Or my friend?
