Do they make a headgasket for this motor? Or do you just use the rubber O ring and high temp silicone?

Re: 1996 150 HP HeadGasket

If you want definitive info, get an OEM shop manual. I don't know about the use of any silicone with the O rings.

This is what BRP website shows:

36 0335523 O-RING, Cylinder head. Included in Powerhead Gasket Set

There may be an adhesive used to hold the O rings in place during assembly. Again, consult the OEM shop manual. I don't think there's a conventional head gasket choice here.

Thanks for all your help. I also notice that those little hole surrounding the piston on the block and also on the head is covered up by black silicone. Is that suppose to be like that? I thought those inlet hole are for water to go through to keep it cool?

My '98 Johnny 150HPV6 calls for a bead of silicone around each water port on the block, and the use of the Oring around the cylinder. I believe the oring should be dry. I recommend an OEM manual, since you still need torque sequence and values, and my manual is at home.

O rings only, there are no head gaskets for the 60 degree loopers. Be careful when you put the black RTV around the water passage holes. If you use too much the hole will get blocked and bad things can happen.

Thanks and that's exactly what I wanted to know. Does it call for what type of RTV? Or what do you guy recommend?
