Re: Merc 350/260 HP No Spark?
the t-bolt system is pretty bulletproof, i have never had any issues with it EXCEPT some of the early style ones that use the large black 6"x6"x2" box igniton module that mounts on the riser elbow
once i had an issue similar to yours but the rpm's would falter under a load at about 3000, all new parts in the system aside from the module (which was getting extremely hot) - replaced module, good to go
other issue i have noticed is that with the new style ignition sensors, idle timing will jump 4 degrees unless you have the idle speed as low as you can get it
the test in the manual for the module is for a NO SPARK condition, you obvously have spark and if your merc certified tech is confident that its the module i would believe it
if you are considering a new system, there are many choices out there - they are all pretty much the same - but seeing as how you already have all the new parts for the t-bolt system, why not just upgrade it with a new ignition module??
may be cheaper than a whole new igniton system
