Quit dickin around wood. Just buy it. YOU know and I know you can not go to your grave without a tinny under your belt to make your life complete. We as well as this entire forum know you will make her better then new and you will ENJOY YOUR NEW METALIC ADVENTURE. GO FOR IT ALREADY!!

If I can do a Duratech for my dad and less than a week after that one got splashed go out and buy myself the Lone Star that is 3X the project. And I am a 20 year old student who has only the computerized web-net and common sense for learning about aluminum boat restoration, my dad is there to help but he admits he knows nothing about tin boats, motors, or fabrication; he does know about rigging and boat refurbishing (glassers only)..I KNOW you are the perfect owner for this fine specimen of American artwork. :thumb:

C'mon Woody - buy a tinner. You know you want to. The Kool-Aid is yummy.

SP, not to hijack, but on saltwater for primary use, I'd be worried about corrosion. I think its a bigger problem if its moored, but having to put salt away on your boat ($$$) and rinsing all the time would become a hassle eventually.

WOG, my radiator guy usually charges $35 to fix a hole like that. no need to be able to weld. just have to know that it can be done for cheap. $35 is cheaper than a box of rivets, 5200, a patch, the gas to run to get everything and the 12 pack I would drink.

WOW!!! That's a Good Price and Good to Know. Radiator Shops!!! Never woulda thought of that as a Resource for Tin Boat Repairs. Good to Know!!!! Thanks for the Info. I LOVE this forum!!!:D

The Labor Day Weekend did not lend itself to Boat Shopping. The Admiral had other plans. Maybe one evening this week. We shall see.

For the Moment No!! Negotiations with this boat have broken down. The Admirals Knee Surgery is on the Horizon and the timing for a New Project is just not "
Right"! But... Ya just never know what the future holds. My Eyes and Ears are always on the look out for that Special Project that might catch my fancy to turn Old discarded Beer Cans into something that Floats!!!!:eek::D:lol:

Where are these things coming from?? In all these years, I never knew a 1/2 n' 1/2 Tinner existed!!! I have to admit I'm intrigued by them. If I ever happened upon one in my area, I'd be very tempted to restore one of em. Thanks for sharing
