I have been using the boat and making many upgrades to it. However, I still don't know what it is. I know that It was made in 1993. VIP the boat is in my profile picture. I have been using it to get me to my hunting spot. It runs great. Just have some issues with it and need to know what it is.
Please help.

Thanks

What problens are you having w it?

Its a VIP, says so right on the side of the hull ;) no idea who made your VIP though. Few problems w boats are wholly make/model dependent. Most problems could happen to most makers boats.

It takes on water bad when Putting it in water. Due to the design of the boat, not sue if there is something made aftermarket that will keep the boat from taking on so much water. Most of the things wrong with it I can fix. Last time I had it on the water the trim up was working very slow but the trim down was working fine.

Bass Stealth/VIP were in production between 1993 until 2002. Sold as affordably priced fiberglass bass boats, these watercrafts built by Bass Stealth/VIP

Why on earth is it taking in water when you put it in? Or more to the point, How?

Because of the design of the boat? Gonna have to give us some pix of the design flaw you're referring too

I am home sick so I will take better pictures tomorrow as well as the issues I am having. I love the boat but I can't even find one online that matches this boat.

Are you saying water comes over the stern when launching?

Usually a sign of :

Too steep a ramp
Oversize engine
Loading (stuff in the boat) too much to the rear
Trailer tongue height (top of ball should be 17 inches from the pavement)

The back of the boat is supposed to float before the water comes over the transom.

Agreed. However, happens on boat ramps that are not steep, the motor is a 90 horse, only a battery is at the back of the boat, I will measure the ball height tomorrow.

Look at the registration papers and post the hull id number here.
The first 3 letters will id the manufacturer, and the last 4 numbers will give you the build date.

Bimini top looks like it needs a bunch of adjusting to level it out, to reduce wind drag.

Looks like a 1993 VIP to me :D

I'm not sure that knowing the exact model is going to solve the launching problem. Probably more of a function of how the boat is being launched and the weight distribution of gear.

Is there a USGC rating plaque somewhere on the boat? Too big of an engine maybe :noidea:

Is that cut out factory??

In the pictures it looks like someone took a sawzall to it to put a short shaft motor on it,...

More pictures of the transom area, inside and out will help....what size and year of motor is that?

as long as the water is just in the splash well that is OK. My boat does that sometimes

Maybe try and loosen the front winch strap a little and back in slower give it a chance to float off the trailer rather than pushing water with it

Ok, sorry for the delay. Hoping we can get some help on this. I have attached some pictures to help determine if this is an after market cut out or this is how the boat came stock. The motor is a 90 horse. I am not sure what year the motor is. appreciate all those trying to help. Also, There are rubber drain flapps that are supposed to allow water out but not water in. one side is gone. I will have to get these replaced. The hitch when connected to my truck is about 17" high off of the ground

here is what I am trying to determine,
1- What boat is this? Make and model/
2- Why does the boat take on water when docking into waterr?
3- is the cut out in the back of boat after market or stock?
