Yeah. I did essentially the same thing. I have 1 26p set, 1 24p 3-blade set and 1 3x4 blade 24p set!
I can run the 26p props on my 21ft Four Winns and get 57mph at 4600 RPM.
I toyed with rebuilding/stroking my 454 and making a LOT more HP. I was going to go to 30p props if I did!
You oughta be able to run at least 26's or 28's maybe even 30's.
Time to reveal some data!
What is your WOT RPM, (trimmed for MAX) speed(GPS) and prop-pitch?
I hit 64 mph once, first run, my butt pukered a bit, but im making 60 mph wot, hits 5000 rpm running light, and with 3 people aboard. The 350 has no problem with 1 person or 3. Makes zero difference. Im running a 26p 3x3 and tossed the idea of getting a four by four from hills marine.. Or a new 4x3 27p.
But lots of experienced guys on here said im right where i want to be. Zero prop slip, etc. Due to the weight of a boat a 350 is normally in, i think that changes the game when it comes to props. Id like to try a 27 and see what happens.
I can tell its propped for hole shot and acceleration. From a standin start i can lift the entire hull from the water, and it splashes down on plane, then comes rhe mid range acceleration, thats when the passenger looks over and gets scared. Lmao! Its defnitly not the biggest motor but power to weight, yes, overkill.
Im going to do some runs here im at the lake now. Video and you tube ill let u guys know,
I have an issue here my drive lube is vanishing!!!! Its not milky, and no signs of oil spill in the water. Keeps going down, going to fill it and keep my eye on it...
All dodge!!!! Can i run with my flame arrestoe cover off to see if all my jets are firing at wot???
