Ok here we go, this is my boat and my 79 Mopar 115hp, the power tilt n trim is giving major issues, the el3ctric motor is shagged cant get a replacement without mortgaging the house, the lower pin that holds the shock, trim unit and tilt ram is siezed fast, trim unit is siezed, shock weeps oil, so my fix for this is
get the grinder out cut the lower bolt outside of shock and tilt ram and throw that stuff in the scrap pile, my method to deal with this,
im using two merc inline tilt n trim rams, im fabricating the lower bracketry and transoms mounts for the merc rams, running a new aftermarket trim n tilt remote pump,
seen this set up done on a 135 , it allows the engine to be tucked right down snug against the transom and comes up really qwick! Way faster then any factory Mopar stuff .
My engine is a 115 Charger, it has one piece gear box with stainless prop.
Ok so what do I need to ask you mob,
My boat is purely for fishing, I hang around 20 mile off shore and the Chrysler doesn’t stop.
My engine come of a Bullet ski boat the prop I cant find the pitch on it what would you recommend pitch wise, I dont want fast out of the hole I need it lug along all day but if I need to head into shore coz of a storm I want it to fly along
As Im paranoid about cooking the motor I’m running a temp gauge, psi gauge, I want to fit a pisser outlet to it, it had one fitted but the fitting and fittings used wasnt upto spec, I was told to not run a pisser and the Chrysler dont have a heat issue they have a pressure issue and the pisser might over tax it, thoughts on this ?
