Winterizing, Multiple Times

change fluids, drain water (4-5 drain plugs, big hose and power steering hose) = winterized

This sounds pretty straightforward. I guess I'll know better after I've done it.

Is it feasible, if you want to take it out on a mild day in December or January, to just put the plugs back in and go? Then pull 'em again when you get home? Is there a priming procedure or backfilling with water that needs to happen before starting it up after it's been drained?

Just put plugs in and go boating.drain everything (including hoses) when done

I pull the drain plugs and hoses in the launch ramp parking lot, then let it drain all the way driving back home.

Me too.....long story, but ended up with a new to the market, crazy priced, handheld gps and an outboard powered boat the next season.

and if you leave the boat in the water over-night with temps in the 30's, simply throw a 75 water incandescent trouble light in the bilge hanging off the motor. it will keep the bilge temp in the 60's. that and the water under the boat will keep you from freezing even if you have to break ice to get to your fishing hole.
