My 06 90 hp johnson suddenly stopped no spark on any cyl. pulled black/yw wire off CDI still no spark.?? tried checking ohms on stator, brown / brown should be 900-1200 i get 1.103 ( which i believe would be 1100??) dva should be 150-400v I get 219. org/org wire ohms should be 50-60 i get 57. dva should be 11-22v having trouble getting the right reading. I set meter to 600v i get 4.5 set meter to 200v get 43.5 set meter to 20v i get a 1 as though its to much to read. ??? not sure if there is a way to test optical sensor. thinking of replacing CDI box (power pack ) just dont want to throw bad money at it or toast new one if another problem. Any input is appreciated.!!

pending resolution of difficulties with meter readings... a recent issue on a ETEC with injectors required confirmation that injectors were in fact spitting fuel..... it was resolved by removing a spark plug (keep it grounded!) and inserting a small strip of paper in the cyl. if injectors are working you should have some fuel on the paper ..

if not it will be something to look into best to find the problem and not throw parts $$$ at it.

I am assuming your's has injectors based on the parts list of a 90hp 2006 Jonhson

dva meter reading is consistent. Changing the scale will change the reading. You are showing 1 when set at 20 therefore higher than 20v. Reading 43.5 when set at 200 v scale; 43.5 volts. Reading 45 when set at 600v scale; 45 volts. Conclusion: you have 44 to 45 volts.
No variation problems.

A DVA test is how you test the powerpak and there is a tool to test the optical sensor. Any dealer will have one or there is one on ebay for about $80

Thanks for your input ,as i would agree. So do you think there is to much voltage from stator. or any opinion?

thanks for your input, I guess to check power pack you have to poke holes in the wire while hooked up cranking. I have not done that but definitely no spark coming out on any cylinder. I did buy another power pack but have not yet tried it. Trying to figure if I have to much voltage coming from stator or is that possible.? I've checked kill wire going to ignition but not sure beyond that.??
