Have a 1972 johnson 3cyl 75hp outboard with what appears to be two "shock absorbers" (look like pn:0385532) mounted to a pivot arm with a grese fitting under the motor. No signs of the typical lift assist cylinder (pumpjack) that everyone is complaining about anywhere.
Are these just shock absorbers or should they be providing some form of lift/lower assist?
This thing is heavy as all getout to lift and downright scary to lower due to the weight.
