How does the power company recharge before, during and after a big power system failure ? Who has enough Charging Stations ?
Has everybody forgot that fact ??

You are all to simple about battery charging.

When the gasoline vehicle was introduced it took America less than 20 years to have gas stations all over the nation.
What you mention are details of ancient technology that will be solved within that same time span. The next generation of cars will no longer use batteries. I can envision electro stations on the throughway where you pull in and change power modules within 5 minutes and off you go for the next 500 miles
The world outside America is flying forward and changing very fast. If we are not careful we will be lagging behind instead of embracing the future,

The horse and buggy lobby tried to stop the gasoline powered vehicles. Where are they now ?

A bad storm can knock out power for a week or so for many so I guess they just get to be stranded if they can’t charge before they lose the ability to do so. If we go electric on everything, what will we use to clean up and repair damage with?

There are other concerns. I just checked on battery replacement. $10,000-20,000 for a Tesla. So no resale value on anything more than 8 years old or with weak batteries. Refueling costs do not go away. The internet says it can cost up to $30 to charge at a public station and up to $18 to charge at home. Currently, it doesn’t look like there are any taxes in place to help maintain roads like there is on gas. I think it’s unlikely they won’t start charging a road tax like they did when propane got popular. No free lunches
 sorry.

I kind of thought we would be hearing more about fuel cells by now. They were big news for a little while several years ago.

Back to the original topic. Boats are no different. There are manufacturers out there that will not talk to you about something they built more than 5 years ago. I needed a ski tow, a gate and a swim ladder for a 12 year old pontoon boat and all they had to say was “sorry, can’t help you”.

I welded up a what I needed fix the swim ladder, installed a Turbo Swing ski tow and ignored the missing gate. I should weld up a gate frame but it won’t mount correctly because the rail is bent. Apparently a tube blew off the deck ripping the gate off the boat in the process.

the electric car showed up before the I.C.E. car did. Battery power didn't make it back then for the same reason it doesn't prevail today, energy content/volume vs distance and fill up times. Around town, sure, subsidies sure. Other than that, they don't "fit". Not everyone has a garage to install a charger or even use 115v.
Make sure to compare apples to apples. The battery IS the gas tank.
My 34 gallon gas tank on my truck @ 20mpg hwy (yes) gets me over 600 miles and takes 5+ min. to refill. And weighs around 250 lbs. when full. And a replacement tank is what, a few hundred bucks, maybe less ?
Compare a battery truck.
All gas stations construction I know of are private, free enterprise driven. As long as that is behind charging stations , fine. But I wonder what's behind the scene at the charging station in a local state park (little buffalo state park, Pa.) huh?
I bet it's not Sheetz....😁
And for those that swear electric is so much cheaper (I'd love to see their electric bill), understand that electric rates are poised, if not already, to skyrocket because of AI server requirements.

look, if electric is free enterprise driven, great, your choice.
But we are being forced, even at the lower level. "They" want us to use battery powered yard equipment so subsequently gas devices are disappearing. I believe Honda said battery mowers only.
Ever priced their batteries?

Development continues--but without all the needed $$$ in subsidies and incentives that have been shoveled into the development of battery-power, it's a much slower process.
Hydrogen IS the way forward. It has the energy density needed to push a heavy vehicle hundreds of miles, fast refills, can be created cheaply anywhere in the world, zero bad emissions, zero hidden toxins used in producing it.

Hydrogen is all that....and the cons are few but major....(see Hindenburg for one)

It has to be stored under pressure in a car. That creates a problem for the general public and it's driving habits...collisions.
So, pressure vessels and flammability.....a bomb.

Nothing will put out a Hydrogen and Oxygen fire in a multi level car parking fire.
Stand WAY WAY back.
