First, Welcome aboard Second. the floor is the last to rot after stringers and transom. if you get one of the only bayliners that only has floor rot, run to publix and buy a lottery ticket. Third Where in Florida? weather is already "warm" here. most of the fiberglass selling places are...

    aftermarket water pump repair kits

Rubber bits run off a calendar, not the hour meter. So if the rubber part sat on a shelf for years, it may have been toast prior to installing Also, for impeller parts, I like to get OEM parts (pump manufacturer preferably). For example, on my IO, I buy Johnson Pump impeller kits

Need new block drain plugs for 5.0 GL PEFS

May need to chase the block threads. If using a tap from local hardware store, you need to grind the lead off it as it will hit the cylinder before the threads clean up Sealant works New plug may have iffy threads. Look to tool chatter marks

GS-249 Holding tank pump out question

in most areas, you cant use the macerator until you are over 3 miles off-shore in international waters. (thats why you dont tail cruise ships out of the harbor). many salt water boats have a key switch that controls the macerator for that reason. some require turning on a breaker. not sure...

2002 Mercruiser 3.0 - No Oil? Engine Swap?

the dividing line on the block and heads is 1990. so anything from 1970 something to 1990 will swap within that time period, and anything post 1991 to when GM stopped making the 3.0 will swap in. the only odd one is the EFI version of the motor.

Help me set up my new edelbrock 1409

8 degrees keeps the motor dummy proof from someone using 85 octane fuel with water in it (detonation) and keeps reversion at bay when when the motor is installed in a sterndrive application with a lot of tail load (extended swim platform). the distributor advance of 24 degrees makes the motor...

Crank driven vs block mounted raw water pump pros/cons

I use a crank driven water pump as they are standard on VP engines. you can go up in size with them as well. makes changing impellers easy. and removing sediment when you bury the outdrive because you are in skinny water.

What kind of damage from an I/O in salt water for 2-3 years?

bayliner build quality was junk in the 80's and 90's. in the early 00's the 25' and smaller bayliners are built in mexico on the same floor as searays most boats are designed for 15-20 year life expectancy. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/perspective-of-fiberglass-boat-design-life.683703/...
