Building a new dogbox over engine

This might help... I'd use ext grade 1/2Plywood and seal it with either epoxy resin or one of my favorites... As shown carpet and vinyl makes it more functional. Some sound proofing material glued to the inside is also kinda nice.

Looking for Advice on Buying a Sewing Machine for Vinyl

Boat covers and Canvas work is a LOT different than seat and side panel upholstery. When dealing with LARGE pieces of Canvas the weight and bulk of the fabric absolutely requires the feeding power of a Walking Foot. This is not the case with small pieces of upholstery vinyl I just finished this...

    14ft aluminum transom repair

I recently saw an aluminum fishing boat with DIY fabricated Transom Caps. Wish I would have taken pic. Basically the guy bout some 1/4" aluminum plate from eBay ($30) and cut/bent them to fit. This is a poor drawing but the results resembled this... He said he cut them with a jig saw (as shown...

    fiberglass over plywood deck restore

I also Highly recommend using a bubble buster roller. Lots of guys only use the short nap roller and pour the resin on top of the glass. I think you get a better bond and less hassle with the glass if you lay down the resin first, then the glass and use the BB roller to force the resin up...

    1980's Hydro Glass Restoration Project

Cardboard roughly cut to the hull shape and a Pencil Compass will allow you to scribe a line from the hull to the cardboard and then cut it out to use for a template on the wood. As long as you're within about 1/4" the PB bedding will take care of the rest.;)

    Avenger Bass Boat Restoration

I agree with the others. I suspect you'll find that the center transom area is built with two central stringers that extend from the bottom of the hull up to the center of the transom. Something like this rough drawing depicts...

Go to a Local Appliance store and have them give you some refrigerator boxes. Cut the cardboard and tape it together to get 10" x how ever long you need. I been thinkin' and I Know this is a Dangerous thing!!! I would really like to hear from anyone/everyone with their thoughts and opinion.
