Yep, my boat will be used in the ocean/bays but will be washed down afterward. 80% of its use will be in fresh. I appreciate you pointing that out regardless as not everyone knows that.

I used cut washers and self drilling flat head screws (see the below snip). I drilled a pilot hole to ensure I got through to aluminum, then ran the bolt through. For the moment they don't have threadlocker on them, but they will once things get finalized.

No issues, in fact it saved my butt as I forgot to run the transducer cable. I like it so far but don’t have it fully screwed down yet, I will once the electrical is done.

    1989 Mariner wire harness extension

I have the 10 wire, I have actually moved on and will be manually extending my control harness. I am one of those that thinks its better to have less points of failure but I wasn't running into much luck on Ebay and the interwebs. I appreciate everyone's help on this, thank you!

    1989 Mariner wire harness extension

Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone had a line on a wire harness extension for a 1989 Mariner 100hp motor. I think I can manually extend it but I would prefer something premade. The harness that came with this new to me outboard may be a little short. =-(

Depending on your anchor setup you can use lee lock or miller bracket. We use this style of anchor here in the PNW. We use buoys to pickup anchors that would otherwise be very hard to dislodge from the bottom of the Columbia river.

I was planning on using some loctite on them, a friend did that to his and has had minimal movement on his welded boat. The screws are stainless steel so no rust (hopefully), but this boat will be used in the ocean/bays/Columbia river.

I cant comment on the motor information you are looking for but you have a beautiful boat. Im working on my 75 marine but it wont look as nice as yours, you did a great job!

I am going to use cut washers/screws, I put a lot of thought into which way to go. I know a lot (if not most) of you prefer to use rivets but most of my experience is with screws and cut washers on boats and I am going to stick with that. I am going to use SS #14 self drilling screws. I will...
