Help me identify what engine I have in my new boat

So your saying keep the large plastic spacer and get rid of the small metal one? Slap the 1409 on that? Or just slap the 1409 on what is sitting there now and try it out?

Sounds like a plan. Once I get the right carb studs I'll post a new thread for help to set it all up. Do you think I should ditch one or both spacers or keep them?

Right on. Would you keep one or both of the spacers on there or take them all off? Thank you for all your help. I just received my brand new edelbrock 1409 and want to get her purring. That aluminum spacer could be taken to a machine shop to be made into a wedge i bet.

ok so maybe I'll keep one of them, I may need extra gaskets then that won't come with the carb. Also I've read that there should be a wedge spacer to level out the carb. Is this something that I absolutely need?

I thought it the 1409 was a plug and play for this motor. Why wouldn't it reach?

I wonder why they'd supply a 750 on a motor that only needs 440 cfm? Either way the 1409 sounds like the way to go? I'm not sure if this guy will even stand by his word, whether it's the stock carb or not.... He's lied about a few things already so I thinking I'll just order the new one and see...

Help me identify what engine I have in my new boat

Could be. It's an oversized automotive carb so I'm not sticking with it. I just want to slap the right carb on there, adjust and go boating which is why I'm leaning to just buy the new 1409

exactly so the 800 cfm is just way too big. I may just buy the new one and sell the used one. I'd like it to be more of a plug and play with no issues this summer.

Help me identify what engine I have in my new boat

so I got ahold of the previous owner and apparently he still has the stock carb and is going to send it to me next week so stay tuned. If it actually is the original carb, I am sure it will need a rebuild. I asked why they changed it. He said it was fine we just wanted more power and got it with...

Help me identify what engine I have in my new boat

it did come with a hot water shower. I've seen other skirays with it as an option as factory. I'll trace it back at some point if I care. I really don't need a shower on a boat or a heater. I was just making sure that capped off hose wasn't supposed to be routed somewhere as the PO has obviously...

interesting. I did find a shower hose but it just has a cap on it. the heater would be under the dash correct?
