Restoring, repairing, cleaning, and maintaining Hypalon boats.

Well as expected the older boat (Hypalon) I picked up Monday has a slow leak in one of the tubes with no visible signs of a puncture. It takes about a day for it to show signs of air loss, but it is there. I remember from many years ago using something like a acrylic Latex in my boat. I don't...

More deaths here! PFD'S, why won't people wear them?

Well it happened again. Nice day, great weather. On the river by our house, a Grandfather decided to take the Grand Kids out for a boat ride. Wanted to start them young and teach them the joys of boating the family said. He forgot to teach them the safety side of the sport though. Three kids...

Just one of those strange days ...

First nice, no rain day since I put the new water pump in. Ran the motor with new plugs last night for about ten minutes in the drum, purred like a happy kitten. Got up this morning made a coffee and went out gave it a pull, first crank and it started. Loaded it all up in the car and headed to...

    Defective boats spur congressional action

I know we have all opinions on the subject, and many in the industry have posted here about the never ending lines of “problem customers”. All in an effort to remove the boating industries damaged image, while continuing to insisting that the boating industry is pure, and the executives are...

    Portable Electronic Boat Gauges?

Probably a dumb question, but ... I have decided I need one instrument that delivers Fuel Flow information, GPS Speed & Travel Data, and has the basic functions of a commercial Tiny Tach. Is there anything on the market that is affordable, portable, and easy to install, that also fulfills...

Retrofitting a Tach? & Prop question?

Is it possible to easily fit a small electronic tach to a motor that never had one. Specifically a small 1981 Evinrude 6HP. And Is it possible to get props for this motor other than the standard stock prop. It only seems that they are only available for larger engines.

    My new/old Metzler Maya S

Well I was supposed to find information for my mom about inflatables and instead I awoke a 40 year old desire in myself to have one. Well here it is! Just bought it on E-Bay for $200. I will have to see how it looks in person next week when I pick it up. 3,60m x 1,50m and a capacity of 500...

Citibank looses 2.5 Billion Dollars & "Wall Street" cheers their numbers. China gets slammed for only 15% economic growth over last year. One major Bank & Finance company after the other is being investigated for criminal activities, and yet overseas their employees/representatives...

Electric boats are coming of age ...

... and not just for fishing! ;) Check out this one. What nice lines “This elegant boat slides across Lake Starnberg in almost complete silence; for the Laguna 760 is electrically powered. While its looks suggest a speedboat along Riva lines, the engine is far from conventional, boasting a...

    Nautica Aiello?

Anyone out there with experiance with "Nautica Aiello" boats out of Italy. I am looking at one of their small SIB's, but can find little information on them. It is supposed to be Italy's largest manufacture, and the prices are out of this world for the used RIB's.

    Impeller question?

Last week I had really good, strong, water flow from my pee hose. I just cranked the motor in the drum, because I wanted to use it tomorrow. I always do this because I would rather find out it won't start at home, then for some reason on the water. Now I have no water flowing coming out...

Need high speed electric motor for small boats!

The rowing club where we will be keeping our motorboat is building a new catamaran pace boat with electric motor (they will receive government support if they succeed).
