BRP 0433475 same number, but look closer

I ordered this newer BRP tell-tale-exhaust part for my '91 150 hp Johnson and don't know why it wasn't pitched like the older one. I made it work but thought I'd show ya'll anyhow. It was a little difficult getting the lower cowling back together over the grommet, but looked fine after installation.

I've adjusted my tell-tale just about every way possible in effort to see it spray up when moving. However, it deflects off the cowling and spays backwards even when positioned upwards. Have any of you ever justed repalced it with a piece of garden hose, plugged the end, and poked a smaller...

Self Bailing Hoses Open or Close??

I'm pretty happy with the my newer boat. I have dealt with nearly all current concerns except this one. Water in the bilge coming from the two fittings on the transom that hook up to the deck drain hoses. They sit below water when sitting still. It supposed to be self bailng, and for the most...

    Outboard Engine Oil

I've read strong opinions by both sides, so I'd like a consensus on whether or not it is safe to use any TCW3 rated outboard oil.

I have a 1991 Fast Strike SilverStar 150 hp motor. J150GLEIS Ser-G02642331 I found a boat shop that will sell me a OEM repair manual (They don't make em anymore so I hear). They need to know if it is a 60 or 90 degree motor. I would think the obvious answer would be 90, buy I really don't...

Repaired Prop Still Cavitates. RPM's discussed also

I have a Johnson 150 fast strike with a 14.25" 22degree Turbo brand SS prop on my 19' HEAVY bay boat. Not sure of the exact weight but my new F150 doesn't like it at all. I had it repaired and they added about a half degree to the pitch. Took it out today and floored it. SAME THING! Started to...

All that work sunk in a few hours.

Back when I bought my first boat I lived in a RV Park on Copano Bay in Rockport, Texas. I bought a dead boat from a guy who lived there and got it fixed up in a hurry. Shortly after, I had it out nearly every day. One day, I got ready to go to sleep and instead of trailering it, I pulled up to...

    OEM Service Manual on CD?

I have the SELOC book for my Johnson motor but isn't very good when compared to my OEM manual for my old '93 mariner. I was wondering if anyone has tried those CDrom repair manuals. They are about $2.99 on Ebay compared to $37 for the book. Are they any good and easy to use?

My low oil sensor is buzzing. I took the VRO pickup unit out and checked the float. That is the problem.
