    The part # for the fuel pump for my 1995 88 spl is 433387.I searched the web for a pump and all of em i find that replaces this part # says it's for a 25-55hp motor up to 1989,doesn't make since.can someone help me with this?     thermostat

    I was reading the post about 1 hot head and 1 cool head and was wondering if my 1995 rude 88 spl has these thermostats also?I am having about the same problem with 1 being warmer than the other.I looked at the rude parts diagrams and can't find a thermostat anywhere.

    White spark plugs

    Called my local boat shop and the tech told me this means motor was running lean.Just wanted to get some other opinion on this.Changed the head gaskets 2 days ago and there was no water in the cylinders,everything looked good inside.

    Test Drive [motor bogging]

    Got to take my new but used motor [1995 evinrude 88 SPL] out today for a test drive.Seemed to run fine at first,then it would act as if it was bogging.It would only hit 4000 rpm's,maybe 4100 at most.so i took off the hood to make sure it wasn't overheating,everything felt fine,nice and cool.shut...

    changed rectifier with no results

    Ok,a few weeks ago i inquired about my tach not working.someone responded with a link as to how to test for bad rectifier,i tested it and bam,the tach worked so i bought a new rectifire and in stalled it today.Started the motor with new rectifier in place and tach still does not work.Any idea...

    Can someone tell me which wire [colors]i would check on the motor that sends the signal to the tachometer?And the wire or wires in the main wiring harness that sends signal to tach? Please someone help me with my issue it's driving me nuts:confused::eek:

    Just replaced my old mercury with 88HP evinrude this weekend, and was wondering if anyone knows of a wiring harnis that goes from mercury to evinrude? All my guages where ran through the merc ignition. From the control box to counsil,i thinks its only 3 or 4 wires coming from conrol box........:(
