    Ranger 354V facelift

Well I started today on the facelift--new carpet, seats, etc. Got all the lids off, took every thing off of the boat--rails, TM, fish finders, hot foot, floor grates, etc. This boat is 20yrs old and no issues with the floor at all except on the very front deck--a couple of soft spots (I will...

Starting the boat work this weekend

Well I've figured out I am going to compound the boat once I have all the carpet out and lids off. Would it be the best to remove the rails from the cap of the boat or would it be fesable to work around them? Does anyone have any thoughts--here is a crap pic--will have better from a real...

150 Merc XR6 idling in gear

Would there be any problems (or cause any problems) just idling in gear with a xr6? I have done this for a mile or so with no ill effects-but have only done this once-after which I ran it out wot with no issues-no hesitation or anything. Just wondering if doing this could damage the motor--it...

    Stuck in the yard

I went to hook up my boat last night and wouldn't you know it--I got stuck in the yard. Where I have to park my boat is on a slope and has lots of pea gravel (under the very thin layer of topsoil)--the idiots that owned the property before me dug a huge water pit and just used gravel to level...

    Carpet replacement

Is contact cement good for laying new carpet? Also would 6x20 be enough for a 18ft bass boat. I measured the current carpet which was 5.5x15 worth of coverage. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    12/24 plug to straight 24v

Re: 12/24 plug to straight 24v Ok--I don't know why this was so hard for me but--I have 24v now. The problem at first is that I put the new Red wire where the old white wire was (that has the jumper). For some reason i was thinking that was the way to get the 24v. Seems the way the recep...
