Lenco trim tabs flashing on right side

I have a CC with Lenco trim tabs and have recently had them stop working nad start flashing on the right side of the control unit. It is the bottom lights. I have not a clue what it would mean. Issue happened after sitting for 3 days at the marina. No physical damage that I can see from an...

    Clunking and prop slipping

Got the boat back from the mechanic 3 days ago. Went out yesterday and no issues. Problem ended up being two things. Cyclinder 3 had a misfire in it so they replaced all spark plugs and the other part that made it noticeable as a clunk was the hub kit was a cheap plastic one and not a nicer...

    Clunking and prop slipping

Boat is pulled and likely going to the mechanic on Wednesday just have to call tomorrow to confirm if he has time/room. Did some basic checks and very much seems like metal in the gear oil.

    Clunking and prop slipping

I really don't have any more info than that sadly, granted I suspected a lower unit/gear issue or hub issue so I had maybe 4-5 minutes of run time away from the marina.

    Clunking and prop slipping

I'm 99% sure not a misfire, it is for sure something to do with the lower unit or prop. Got help coming in a couple hours to pull it and inspect it maybe Monday.

That was my fear, yup will be pulling the boat tomorrow then and taking it in.

Yes nothing on the prop, spins clear and free as well.

    Clunking and prop slipping

I have a 2019 Mercury 225XL that I took out tonight and when putting into gear and while on plane had some chugging/clunking along with prop slip. I am at a marina that has no on site mechanic so I am now debating if I spend my weekend pulling the boat and taking it to the mechanic Tuesday or if...

    Kicker on a CC?

Is that really the power I should be looking at for the great lakes? I am on the St Lawerence and Lake Ontario.

    Kicker on a CC?

They don't make twins in my size boat. If I go up to a 25ft which has twins then I am in a bigger slip which is harder to get, burns a ton more fuel, and higher maintenance costs. I'd love a twin boat and my goal of a kicker is partly to close the gap from what I have to a twin. Now there is...

    Kicker on a CC?

I've been around this area give or take 100km for most of my life and have seen maybe 20 in total and all are in the last few years. The marina he is at is 90% aluminum fishing boats and 30-35ft cruisers so while they are around he more than likely has not seen many before and never done a...

    Kicker on a CC?

Ended up going to talk to my marine mechanic and he said almost never works on a CC and doesn't know how he would install one so would have to bill me to research. I found some brackets that I am going to run by him and we are going to run it as a pull start, and hook up a steering link to the...

    Building a tackle drawer unit

Yeah that was the worry is building it is going to be a lot more expensive than buying it. Pricing it out, seems like the cost is just about inline for buy vs build it so a matter of if I want to learn or not.

    Building a tackle drawer unit

Yeah that is the site the images are from. I wasn't sure if we could link here so I pasted in some images. They are US based and I was hoping to buy from a Canadian location to not deal with international shipping as that always seems crazy expensive. I don't think I have ever ordered...

Those look great, for PVC, where did you find sheets? Rona/Home Depot stores or a more specialized store?

    Building a tackle drawer unit

I am in Canada and have had a horrible time trying to find anything in Canada. If I was in the US I would have no issue at all. I wonder if it is cheaper to import it from the US than to build it.

    Building a tackle drawer unit

I'm looking to build a tackle drawer unit like the one pictured below. I've not the first clue where to start. My current thinking is I need to figure out hinges, sliders, how to cut/glue the parts, what I should use for material for parts, how to insert the latch. Anyone have some advice on...

    Kicker on a CC?

My current 4 stroke seems quieter, more reliable, and cheaper to own than my old 2 stroke... however comparing an engine with 40 hours and one with an unknown number from 1977 is not really fair
