    Tacoma Wheel Skin Clips

I've got a 2007 Tacoma. The plastic wheel skins, as a result of careless tire guys banging them off and on, have lost so many of the little steel clips that the skins are no longer securely attached to the wheels. The clips look like they should cost about $0.05 each - but, surprise, Toyota...

    Harbor Freight Predator Engine Parts

I've got a HF chipper/shredder with the 6.5 HP Predator engine, which I really like. However, when I try to do a simple, basic service, changing the air cleaner element - can't find a replacement. I'd read that the Predator 6.5 is a clone of the Honda 6.5, so tried the AC from Honda. It is...

    Fuel Line/Primer Bulb Issue

It seemed like such a simple project. All I wanted to do was replace a hardened primer bulb. Now, after multiple trips to West/Walmart/Hardware store, I have a new primer bulb, together with adjacent, short hose sections, and, new snap-on connectors at the tank and the tank end of the primer...

    Yamaha or Not Yamaha??

When I was putting my boat back in service, a few years back, I replaced the fuel lines. My motor is an '82 Mariner, made by Yamaha, so, for consistency, I put Yamaha fittings in the fuel line. These were the Attwood brand, from Walmart. However, when I went to hook the fuel line up to the...

    New Primer Bulb Standards?

Replacing my primer bulb and was in West today looking at the sets - bulb/hose/connectors. Some of them (the "Premium" ones) said "for 2011 and later EPA compliant fuel tanks." What's new? Are they (the primer bulb sets) backward compatible?

    Attaching transducer to a tinny

Here's mine. Piece of 1/8" 5052 aluminum with SS bolts, secured with JB Weld, to serve as mounting studs. Secured the assembly to the transom (after buffing/cleaning) with 3M 4000 UV. After the 3M dried, mounted my transducer. Holding strong since 2012.

    Does My Motor Eat Impellers?

Opened her up and, there it was, impeller damage. See photo. One tip missing, couple of others mangled a bit. Am I buying the world's crappiest impellers, or, am I doing something wrong in install or operation?

    Does My Motor Eat Impellers?

Every once in awhile I read posts from guys that have had the same impeller in for 2-3 years, and are wondering if they should replace it. I know it is good PM to replace the impeller annually, but, my motor gives me no choice. Motor is very lightly used. After just about 12 months I notice...

    Tips on Selling Boat

Thinking about upgrading to something newer and more comfortable. Dreading thought of selling current boat and dealing with tire kickers/ride seekers/general douche bags that sometimes respond to Craigslist ads. Any tips on how to deal with this?

    Bent Side Bunk Supports

As a result of a minor incident (don't ask :() the side bunk supports on the Starboard side of my trailer have become mis-aligned. See photos. The vertical members are both canted forward and the rear vertical member is angled outboard from the front member. Hard to fix? Would you guys fix...

    Bunk Location

As you might guess, by my recent posts, I'm doing some trailer tune up. One of my issues is that my tinny has longitudal reinforcing ribs on the bottom - these don't line up well with the current bunk placement. As a result, when my boat is centered, I end up with one bunk supporting a rib and...

U Bolts to Attach Bunk Brackets

My bunk brackets are currently fastened to the trailer frame with bolts through holes in the cross members. I want to move the brackets slightly in the horizontal direction - but the hole spacing in the cross members won't allow me to position them exactly where I want them. Trailer...

Proper Installation of Cone Washers on Brackets?

What's the procedure when tightening the nuts on brackets using cone washers? Flatten out the washer? Tighten to the torque appropriate for the bolt? Tighten till the washer just begins to compress? Other? I have been tightening to the torque appropriate for the bolt. Just like to...

    Grease Fittings on My Mariner

I've got an '82 Mariner 30A. My HF grease gun had a battle with a couple of the grease fittings and broke them off. Do I need SS replacements? Or, over the counter from auto parts place?

    Mariner Fuel Line Replacement

When I had a repair guy bring my '82 30A Mariner back to life, he replaced the rotted under-cowl fuel lines with those clear plastic/tygon/vinyl/whatever that the motorcycle guys use. They've held up fine for a few years, but, I understand use of these materials is frowned upon for marine...

Cleaning Up Old Demolition Hammer Grease/Grime

I've got a 25 year old Makita electric demolition hammer that has given long and faithful service. I'm thinking of selling it (getting too heavy for my 75 yo bones) and would like to clean it up. It's got 25 years worth of lubricating (air tool oil) oil and dirt, baked on by the sun, that I'd...

PVC Conduit 45 Cut From 90?

OK, guys, since I got such great info from my previous query, here's another. I'm working with 1" PVC conduit and need a 45 degree fitting. Seems like my local HD is out of 45's, although they have plenty of 90's. Instead of running all over town to different HD's, can I just get a 90 and cut...

    Reuse Wire Pulled From Conduit?

I'm going to be moving my pool timer and an outdoor outlet about 20 feet. The wire to the new location will be in PVC conduit. I have a bunch of wire pulled from and abandoned ridged metal conduit run. Any issues with reusing this wire in my new project? I'm sure the Code would frown on...

Anybody Ever Set Tile in 5200 or Similar?

Here, pushing a year in the harsh :) SoCal environment is the final product. Seems to be holding great. Only down side is the cost. Cabinet had a cost of $0.00 to the point of setting the tiles - used materials scrounged from my stockpile, including tile. Took 1.5 tubes of 5200 Fast Set to...

    Chinese Technology - Bah!

Bought a galvanized gate latch at HD. Made in China. Came with six galvanized screws. Three of the six screws had the Phillips slots so gummed up with zinc that I couldn't get a bit to drive them. Probably should have returned it just to make a point, but, didn't want to wait in the return...
