    Lower unit leak

    My 91 evinrude 225 had a leak now I fixed it. Didn't need to take it apart. Is wd-40 acceptable to use for displacing any water in there if it is flushed out with oil prior to putting the engine back in service?

    lower unit oil

    My lower unit 91 evinrude 225 has some water intrusion. Where are the likely places for the seals to go bad? Am going to change the impeller soon and would like to address this problem as well. Any suggestions.

    Just did a compression test on my 91 evinrude 225 after the decarb. It read 85 psi across all 6 cylinders. How many more hours you think left before an overhaul? It runs good as is. Would I need the complete kit or just re-ring it?

    Engine runs fine above 3000 rpm but below that it shakes and sputters had new fuel in the boat and have a fuel water separator installed. Engine was running at 5500 rpm for over an hour and sounded great but when I would come down off plane it would do this. Any suggestions? Where should I start?

    do the wires coming out of the oil resevoir for my evinrude 225 looper hook up back at the engine or straight to the key switch or warning horn. If they go back to the engine what color are the wires? My manual doesn't cover this part.

    vro

    I hear alot about the vro giving problems in the early years. I have a 1991 vro is that early or late? I am thinking of disconnecting but have had no problems so far. It seems to be a bit more efficient also.
