    2000 Mercruiser 5.0 Blue smoke on initial start up

    Hi everyone... On initial start-up I seem to get a fair amount of "very light blue" exhaust smoke.. after a coulple of minutes it goes away as well as the smell. Dose this indicate worn valve guides?? Is it a big job to fix if it is? Thanks! Rick BTW 300 hrs on motor

    Removing Remote oil Drain Kit M/C 5.0

    Hello everybody... Does anyone know if there is a "special" wrench to remove the oil drail hose kit. It has a banjo style swivel fitting, but it is leaking and I cant seem to tighten it.     Engine oil in the Bilge 2000 Mercruiser 5.0

    My "new" 2000 deck boat with a 5.0 Mercruiser engine has started leaking oil in the bilge (center), any ideas what to look for? the boat has 265 hrs. I just had the oil changed pumped from the dipstick, and the new oil filter is tight and dry. Thanks for ANY help......

    Batttery Switch question

    Hi everyone...Newbee here with a Mercruiser 5.0 Sterndrive. My battery switch has Off, One, Two, and Both possitions on it. What is the proper way to use the switch?? After I start the boat using "both" do I switch back to 1, or 2 or keep it on both?:confused: Thanks!!! Rick
