    48 years...

When I bought the boat the fuel tank was on the front of the pontoon in a reversible seat base. I fabricated a frame off the back of the boat and mounted it there to get it out of the way. It will interfere with the outboard so it has to go. Funny how taking something apart goes so much...

    48 years...

I agree, great motors, but with the outdrive in the same vintage I'm ready to move on. I have another outdrive with a failed electric shift, will package it all for any remaining stringer die hard.

    48 years...

Well, after 48 years (9 years in my possession) my '75 OMC120 stringer gave up the ghost. I'm sad that she didn't make 50, but not broken up about it, I know they get a lot of bad press but for me it was a good setup that was easy to wrench on and was actually very reliable. Suddenly lost 50%...

1975 Pontoon with OMC120 stringer, replace with Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha one?

The drawings are a big help, thank you. So the mount for the outdrive and the rear engine mounts are bolted together sandwiching the angled transom. Three mounting points for the engine if I am seeing it correctly. I went to look at a donor boat yesterday, the guy said the motor and outdrive...

1975 Pontoon with OMC120 stringer, replace with Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha one?

Got 8 years out of my OMC120 stringer before recently lost top end power with loud pinging and water spitting out of exhaust. I assume head gasket + whatever other damage. She gave me 8 good years but I'd like to just modernize a little to a Mercruiser 3.0 with and Alpha One outdrive. The motor...

75 OMC 120 Stringer, new impeller kit, won't prime itself

Hi all, Just replaced the impeller kit in my 75 stringer and it will not prime itself. When I give it some water at the pivot flush fitting, it then starts to pump strong from the pickup tube, and both tattle tale streams are strong. If I turn off the motor and restart it within a minute the...

    Looking for input

-- Understood, thanks for taking the time to look it over. Mainly concerned that I don't create a dangerous condition. -- That's correct, they'll both be connected at the engine. -- Actually, there's three banks. The trolling motor battery and engine battery will be charged by the 1250P and...

    Looking for input

I'm adding AC power to my boat. Using the manufacturers wiring diagrams I created the proposed schematic below. I was hoping to get some input as to the "correctness" of my proposed setup. Hopefully it is readable if you zoom in. The "Shore AC Panel" and "Inverter AC Panel" are Blue Sea 3116...
