    reassembling of outdrive

    hey i have an alpha one drive... when i bolt the lower unit back with the upper unit.... where the shift shaft connects to the lower unit shift shaft... does that matter with positioning for forward and reverse? .. i know when installing it on the boat itself it hasto be in forward..

    hey im installing the water pump and manual online says counterclockwise.... but i would assume thats on the boat? look at my pic that would be counterclockwise while holding it in my hand... but when installed right side up.. thats clockwise?

    crack near water pump

    hey guys this is a 1987 mercrusier alpha one drive.. i removed the waterpump this week and in the process of prying the old one out i had the screw driver between the plastic of the pump and the (metal?) of the drive and it cracked a little bit.. not much i would say about a 1/8 of a inch deep...

    engine noise reducer?

    so im thinking of a way to reduce the motor noise from outside the boat. the "doghouse" engine cover seems to have lost its insulation underneath. would the spray foam insulation work to help reduce the noise of the running motor? or any other cheap noise reduction options?
