    Volvo Penta 5.7 no spark

IMG_1079.jpg is your CANBUS connector which would use Rinda #94029 adapter. IMG_1081/1082.jpg is the Volvo Vodia connector (I think). Mark

Wix filter cross reference for VP 4.3?

Very true, it's very hard to make subtle throttle changes. My biggest complaint. Mark

Wix filter cross reference for VP 4.3?

Not to hijack your thread but I got a new boat with a V6-280 hp directed injected engine last summer.....absolutely love the package. Quiet, super-responsive, not to bad on fuel, loads of power.......love it. Mark

Wix filter cross reference for VP 4.3?

Your high pressure pump resides at the back of the engine just under the plastic intake manifold. Have a look here......cam driven. https://www.volvopenta.com/shop/0/part-sections/54165673 Mark

Wix filter cross reference for VP 4.3?

That is not a DI pump. It's a high pressure pump for MPI. Big difference.

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

    Part #38 should be there!

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Ah, that makes sense. My engine does not have cats, only one O2 sensor on each bank. Thanks for the insight. Mark

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

That was me. That was the only way I was able to determine I had a dead cylinder. The fuel trim was pegged at max although I was able to run the test at idle and not under load. What damage could be done? Mark

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Fuel trim @ -3.6% looks good. I don't know if this is short term or long term but good nonetheless. Misfire counts are perfect. Now that you can generate what looks like a valid report, I assume you'll capture data when under load. Mark

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Have a look at this document.....page 161 to 164. The voltages I'm referring to correspond to the figures on those pages. Mark

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Another question......Can you get access to the freeze frame data that was captured automatically by the ECM when the trouble code was set?

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Your Long Term fuel trim is way too high according to the data. The ECM thinks it sees a lean condition due to the upstream O2 sensor reading so it's throwing more fuel at it. But the data is showing a negative oxygen value......odd. I would do an injector cutout test using the Diacom tool to...

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Oops, just realized this is a 3.0L engine so only 1 bank with a total of 2 oxygen sensors, upstream and downstream. Safe to assume bank 2 data is to be ignored? Can your Diacom system graph O2 sensor voltages? Upstream should oscillate and dow stream should be relatively steady when in closed...

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Your Diacom software package should be able to perform O2 sensor performance tests as well as a number of other tests. Can you do a cylinder (injector) cutout test? What do your fuel trim numbers look like?

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Are your intake O2 readings varying?

    Mercruiser 3.0 PCM-09 Code 3050

Just because the O2 sensors were replaced, you still need to verify them. Try swapping them from side to side before contemplating the replacement of the catalyst. They don't look right. Mark

    Engine hour gauge

From the Rinda website, downloaded the Techmate Pro scan tool manual. If you have a Thunderbolt V ignition system, the instructions will make sense. Pages 55 to 61. Mark
