    I ran 3 gallons of fresh gas with a good quality injector cleaner through the engine..... No change. With a Rinda scan tool, I ran an injector cutout test. Low and behold, cylinder 3 is the problem. The engine stumbled when cutting 1,2,4,5,6 but not 3. Disconnecting the spark plug on 3 also...

    Cable or Friction Setting

    How old is the boat? Is the stiffness increasing? My 4.3-280 was too loose so I increased the throttle friction on the control itself to help with small speed adjustments. You can try backing off on the friction setting and see where that takes you. Mark

    Understood. Premium is the only fuel available in our area than is ethanol-free. My plan was to switch over to regular anyway. As mentioned earlier, the fuel in the tank was pushing 3 years in age with summer/winter temperature changes (Ontario).
