    3.0 mercruiser dieseling

725 RPM is too high have you checked timing? if all is good with timing after you get the idle within spec, let it idle a bit prior to shutting it off. if you have to pick up a skiier, key off while in gear

Volvo Penta 4.3 GL No Power to Fuel Pump

you can use a coffee can with a nipple soldered to the bottom and gravity feed the carb to get you to the boat ramp. just need the fuel source higher than the carb. alternatively you can use an outboard tank, and a squeeze bulb or you can hotwire the pump directly its not rocket science

    Builder question about water displacement

I dont think you have a problem. the well is a bit low on your boat. it should have been a bit higher for a slightly longer motor however your boat is more than a few decades old. move some weight forward

    Chain worth it?

if you are on Lake Michigan near deaths door, as little as a 5 degree change in wind can change the seas from a light chop to 6 foot rollers due to the doppler effect with little to no change in wind speed.

Removing saltwater seized piston on Mariner 5hp

heat the cylinder, then use a can of freeze-it on the piston. another idea, use a hole-saw that is the diameter of the inside ring grooves. you have to be dead-centered on the piston. you saw thru the piston, and the piston comes out in bits, then you can peal the rusted rings from the bores.

Best buffing compound or cleaner wax

I would use a clarifying (no wax) cleaner vs a cleaner wax. Then a quick wipe with wax and grease remover, then a quick alcohol wipe. Then apply the decals Then wax

2019 Grand Cherokee came with wrong size spare....Just found it out

I remember when bumpers and spare tires were not standard on pickup trucks. I also know that things like turn signals and mirrors used to be dealer added along with spare tires. if an emergency spare doesnt sit well, get a full-sized spare and mount it on a tire carrier.
