    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

I used 1/4" batting on my SS panels just to add some cushion for for the vinyl after seeing how easy it gets injured on my Chief with just the plywood underneath.

Yeah and I still have the plans for it too. A = 24" B = 24" C = 21" D = 4 1/4" A & B are 2"x2" thin wall box tubing. B should have a straight cut on one end and a slight angle cut on the other. I think that angle is somewhere in the 15-17 degree range. The exact location for the forward legs...

Looking good on the drive clean up although that chipped skeg stirs something in my brain. I used a saw and belt sander to smooth the OCD out of my broke skeg. :sneaky: :ROFLMAO:

    1978 Islander 22 I/O

Don't worry about using fine steel wire wheels on your Al clean up. Just think about all the steel that Al has come in contact with from being dug out as ore in a bucket to a yuke, rail car, smelter in an iron pot, poured into a steel mold, run through steel rollers, extruders, steel sheers to...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Amazes me the lengths people will go to with goop to try and seal out the water. I had to scrape off a couple tubes of sillycone from an OB Merc motor mount and it's mounting holes as if that was going to stop it up.

Yeah you could use a hose with a funnel and still be able to poke the crud out. I still would prefer the brass petcocks with the removable wing nut center. My luck that lever on the ball valve would get bumped, open up, flood the boat and starve the motor of water.

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

No I've not tried those switches. I opted for the old tried and true rockers that can be replaced easily from a parts house. I have the SeaSense Marine 5 Way Switch Panel

Only issue I see putting ball valves in is you have to poke the drain holes after removing the plugs since debris settles in as it drains and all the water won't come out. If that happens you'll end up with cracked manifolds come spring.
