    while both the 454 and 4.3 are available with a bravo drive, it is more likely that the 4.3 uses an alpha drive which is not suitable for a 454. Also gear ratio would be different. If you need a replacement mercruiser drive and dont want to pay OEM prices look at SEI aftermarket drives

    could be that the seals in the outdrive are leaking and oil and water mixes. I think also the vent on cap can cause pressure build up and overflowing as well. Would crack your drain screw on outdrive and see if you have milk there

    you can leave the nipple in the hole wont bother anything if you are using a perma lube bearing. Pull the drive and see how it looks since moving it helps would think it is gimbal or ujoints

    100 % up and down slack is gone at zero lash. twisting for drag will lead to over tightened rockers.
