1985 StarCraft Islander 221v fixer upper.

We're still hanging around too and yeah it's going to be a tough one to find a garage large enough to fit a 22'r all the way inside. That reminds me, I need a big ole shop for my 22'r.

    Jump seats

Tough to know if they will fit without dimensions of your base. Easy enough to find cheap seats. https://www.iboats.com/shop/attwood-low-back-seat.html

    1980 Holiday 181

Yeah OMC had many faults in their designs and no through the hub exhaust was one of them. Not an 1980, the Chief was discontinued and the Islander became the only cabin tinny.

    1987 SS201 Info

Your 4.3 will last many more years. I have the 4.3 205 LX with the 4bbl and have thought about adding an new intake and when or if needed aluminum exhaust manifolds to loose some stern weight.

Add a trim gauge to 1996 Starcraft 2210ss

See if you have the trim pucks on the outdrive and corresponding wiring inside. An hour meter just hooks up to switched power and runs when the key is in the on position.

I wouldn't change out the mechanical pump and no you don't need a new tank, they make inline electric pumps.

    Hey Newbies

You guys think the boat noobs are bad here, the Starcraft FB page is littered with complete and utter know nothings that get hurt when you point out the flaws in their brainchild work. So tell me what issues you think this fellow is going to have when he get's this on the water if he ever does?

Post a pic of your starcraft!

Yes yours is the transition year for sure with the new designation, they stopped using the extended strake in subsequent years and about the only V5 features that remained were smooth sides, OB splashwell design and decking layout. My pic above you can see the port side fuel filler that was...

    1987 SS201 Info

Welcome to the Starmada. What's not to love with the big SS and you won't soon get a case of 2-foot-itis. 😆 There's more info here about Starcraft boats than any sales brochure will have. What info in particular are you looking for?

Do you still have the badges in your Islander? This is my 78 model year that was built in 77, a 5 year run with yours being the last. Your year they did away with the port side fuel filler but the extra long bottom strake is the biggest giveaway for the V5 models.

Nice Islander, the transition year from the V5 model to the later V models.

Don't see the original Starcraft gauges let alone in working order, awesome look with the logo.

Yeah most likely just a relay, replace in pairs if ones found to be faulty.

On the IOs the circuit goes from keyed power at the ignition switch which is normally on the dash, through the kill switch to the 12v power on the coil. The circuit is closed to give power to the coil and when pulled it opens the circuit cutting the power off.

    New Journey

That's a good question, for MT epoxy to adhere properly, I personally would not use the 303 on substantial pitting that needs to have MT. What I would do is fill the deeper pitting with MT and then coat everything else with the 303. Corrosion should not continue under the MT as there is no...

Oh yeah and I found this, will come in handy on the Islander I'm sure. https://www.iboats.com/shop/303-long-lasting-corrosion-coat-aerosol-15oz.html

I use fir ACX for my transoms with Titebond III, nothing wrong with it at all. That pitting isn't too bad, just needs cleaned up to stop it from progressing.
