Bravo 3 engine installation / alignment

no its right with the bolts proud, again the sleeves are putting pressure only on the inner hub of the rear mount. So the rear of the engine is too low? Drop the front mounts and the coupler should come up in relation to the gimbal bearing, it kind of works inverse to how you may think.

Bravo 3 engine installation / alignment

Not following here normally when installing an engine I put the back down & tighten the rear mounts. Then hang the front of the engine until the alignment is in the ballpark, its easier to adjust the side mounts this way. You may also have to move it side to side. Is it possible you have...

Bravo 3 engine installation / alignment

that is how it sits as shown in this thread- the spacer has to seat against the inner sleeve of the mount and not touch the flywheel cover so the rubber can act as an insulator against engine vibration. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/mercruiser-rear-engine-mount-problems.700803/ Did you...

I enjoyed my 3.0 powered boat as well. With the right prop could do ok skiing and was cheap to operate and maintain. Now that the family is bigger the boat is as well. What year vette? My other ride is a 65 GTO, just waiting for the builder to finish a new engine for it.

I also came from a 3.0 powered boat its a nice upgrade. I think most people get tired of the trough hulls pretty quick. Captains Call is probably the better bet.

Have yet to own a boat with with too much power ... but fair enough. All that matters if it works for how you use it.

yes they use the same cam just changing carbs and or for injection and would assume ignition timing on later MPI models. I think what you will find is the gains are pretty small and if you really want more after doing the 4 bbl put in a 5.7. When I did my repower my sea ray 200 was originally...

Also check the retainer to seal clearance, this can be done with the head still on the engine

225-230 is a fair estimate. As mentioned closest spec merc engine would be the 4 bbl reman at 225 hp. Should be a nice punch over the 2 bbl 190 hp you have now. would be careful of thinking the intake alone is going to add too much HP. Unless the cam is done or the higher ratio rockers, just...

    Mercruiser 120 poor starting

Would seem based on this it is not getting fuel is fuel getting to the carb. If it is dig into the carb. I recently put a 4 bbl edlebrock back on my 65 pontiac. It ran perfectly when I removed it two years ago. I inverted the carb to get the gas emptied out of the bowls, put it back in the box...

yes or if you are reusing the cable you can take it off with the bell housing and slide it back in the new shift bellows. Make sure to take out the inner core of shift cable (disconnect the end at the shift plate) pull out through bellhousing end. I run a weedwacker wire up the shift cable...

Bellow job question on Alpha 1 Gen 2 for DIY

I would buy OEM as well my original bellows lasted 18 years why mess around with anything else You could by the OEM kit and get a greaseable bearing but if yours is quiet now why replace it until it gets noisy

    Prop Selection - Bayliner 175

That is pretty much right on what I did with my 3.0 boat. If your tach is accurate you are better off being slightly under propped like this. A tad above wot range isn’t gonna hurt. i suspect for water sports 15” is to low in pitch , if you need more holeshot try a 17” and watch the over rev...
