    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

Can you lay most of the panel flush with rivets to an aluminum frame and cut out a section over the engine bay to create a removable cover? +1 @Watermann suggestion for removable cap Looking back I wish I had thought more about how I secured my corner caps. I was worried about losing them if...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

LOL, I think its a requirement that Friday shift does at least a couple rivets on every boat. The original rivets on ours didn't have the nice dimple, the replacements did. I think it was a difference between 1100F and 2117T4. I think the 2117T4 had the dimple, but not 100% sure. SHSU

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

Yep, I have one of those removal tools as well. They work great if you only have a couple to do. Trick for solid heads is to just a drill punch to give it a start. Just helps prevent that little bit of walking when it starts out. SHSU

    Starcraft patriot transducer question

It looks like we are all trying to understand what the bracket is for, we are so curious. If not a trim tab, a small step of some kind? Back to the original question, as long as you maintain the minimum from the prop, it shouldn't matter. At speed, you just need clean water to get depth...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Nothing like being able to use a boat and still do work on her. I wish I had the opportunity when we did ours. Nothing like being able to see the progress and use it too. We just saw progress but it seemed to drag at times. Excited to see your next steps on her refurb. SHSU

1982 Starcraft Center Console 18' Rebuild

Yep, we did. Not what I would recommend but admiral and I are pretty proud of it. So the point of the 5200 is to seal between the rivet head and hull, the hull overlapping, and the tail/hull. We used a normal caulking gun, cut the top to pin hole size and would shoot a dab for the inner and...

1982 Starcraft Center Console 18' Rebuild

I will admit on our project we had our share early on. Not recommending anything we did in such cases, but it worked for us and still hasn't started to leak (Even after some brutal beatings out in Galveston Bay/Gulf of Mexico). Recommended process would be to drill up a size and use a bigger...

1977 Evinrude 70 HP: Trouble idling in water and cannot reach WOT

Thanks All, So I was able to work on it again this morning. Things I checked: Went to auto store and picked up a Spark Gap Tester (Not a spark tester, have one of those already). Before I tested by just holding the plug near the head to see it jump, but at this point decided needed a real...

Thanks all for the kind words and support. Sorry its been awhile, went back into the hospital again.... Finally got out and added a couple things to the boat. With the front fishing area, Admiral agreed she needed some rod holds up there. So added one on each side for her. As usual SS bolts...
