Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI MIE SKI 0L305632 skipping

Agreed would look if fuel pressure is dropping. would also think the crab cap but that was just replaced. Is battery and connections good? seem to see a lot of issues with MPIs getting squirrely if battery condition is iffy.

    Mercruiser 4.3 MPI Q's

yes just read what MUC wrote about the flush kit where the 5 gallon one falls short is time to run the engine and recirculate the AF so passages get fully turned over to AF vs mix of AF and water. Thats why marinas use a huge amount of AF that is the expensive PG type with corrosion inhibitor...

Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI MIE SKI 0L305632 skipping

What do spark plugs look like, by reading them you can tell a lot about air fuel ratio. Do you see this miss on a timing light? Do you have strong spark on a gap tester

    Mercruiser 4.3 MPI Q's

Yeah I know but stainless can gall and the plastic ones work just fine from my perspective. They seem to bother folks but they work for me.

    Mercruiser 4.3 MPI Q's

you will get more clarity in the oil threads... bottom line find a system that works for you and your boat. if its easy to drain drain it, if you reply on AF need to use a big system so it can get up to temp and make sure the freeze point works. Both ways get to the same place depends on the...

Crownline 180 BR - Merc 4.3 MPI Prop

if you were at 4600 would expect dropping 2" and adding a blade would get you around 4800-4900 or so at WOT. Just did a similar swap on neighbors 20-21 ft Larson with a 4.3 Volvo MPI, had a 3 blade 19" Aluminum VP prop and was low on wot maybe 4400 or so, went to a 17" 4 blade VP prop hits...

Crownline 180 BR - Merc 4.3 MPI Prop

What was your wot rpm with the 21” pitch ? If you were close to 5000 you may not want to drop pitch so much

5.7 EFI stalls when warm and shifting into gear

Would also think if IAC is closed it’s getting air elsewhere. Have you tried spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid around the gaskets on intake and throttle body ?

    Ethanol free gas for Mercruiser

this is exactly right only place I have had issues with E10 is when it sits in a generator etc. I run the boat on non ethanol because that is what the marina sells and I dont want to lug cans to fill a 37 gal tank. Jetski I use E10 from the pump because I dont take it that far to go to the...

    Boat age vs financing.

@Lou C can tell you all the good bad and ugly on Cobras. The impeller access is nice but in my experience using OEM merc parts I don't change them enough to have to worry about splitting the drive. I do actually like the smaller lighter alpha drives even with having to split it and the dog...

Changing outdrive on my inline 6 165 HP.

did you just replace it ? odd it needed to be cut off or was it on there a while. Impellers are a good place to use OEM merc parts in my experience they seem to last 2x what even good aftermarkets parts like sierra

Wiped cam lobe mechanical fuel pump

Definitely drain by plug and flush with kero or diesel. Would put some oil crank it to push remaining crap into filter and cut open filters until it is clean. I used to jack up the front of my tailer and drop the oil in the bilge and out the drain plug makes a mess but you need to flush the...

depends on what u want to use it for. A couple of thoughts of course depends on price of boat and what u want to get into. if you just want a cruiser and inexpensive way to get on the water, may work just fine as is or swap a lower pitch prop for when you are more loaded down. if you like...

the small power plant may be why it has sat or because the seller is full of himself. Basically all you care is was it taken care of. If it was and especially if seller is still in boating it probably was cared for. There is no hose to an airbox like on a car. Flame arrestor is on top of...

Wiped cam lobe mechanical fuel pump

In addition to the wiring of the electric fuel pump, I would think you have a lot of metal in the engine from the cam lobe that needs to be cleaned out

what size boat is it. May be underpowered with a 5.0 . Would inspect the B3 for corrosion. Some of the early B3 s had a lot of corrosion that was rectified with additional zincs on later ones.
