    Ss windshield brace

@El Gaffer Looks great! Did you cut the brace, bend, and rivet it to cover the gap?? Cause thats exactly what i was thinking of doing! Please share where you got the bolts and which ones exactly too.

    Ss windshield brace

Fully understand the issues that could be caused by it being removed. Its all personal choice and situations. I dont see modern boats with windshield bracing like that. Ill bolt her up tight and if i regret it one day ill rebuild it lol. As far as my situation goes, I wont be getting into...

    Ss windshield brace

All good mnhunter. Thanks. I was planning on adding a few bolts along the side for good measure. Hoping i can figure out a way to plug that hole thats leftover from cutting the support too. Support doesnt seem to do much but get in my way lol.

Looking to buy an older Starcraft - Do you know this dash?

@anticon Score! She looks all original to me from those photos. Great buy, better deal than I got but can’t find em like that in CA too often. Motor alone could fetch that much around me. Will look forward to your new thread, curious what she needs done to her.

    21' Holiday Rebuild

I know how ya feel. And Im hoping the scratches from the nylox brush dont require me to smooth them out before i paint!! Otherwise its just more time wasted lol. Baby steps, will be worth it in the end!

    Ss windshield brace

I remember reading about that in your thread @MNhunter1 I’d like to do that to my boat as well, not a fan of the big bar sticking out. Looks a lot cleaner without it. When I took apart my windshield, i could see where a T bolt could be slid in to stabilize it. MNhunter1, do you remember how...

    21' Holiday Rebuild

PO had the “hydroturf” in my boat prior to me tearing it out. Only removed it due to the color and now ive learned that certain colors fade - lime green is one of them. Super comfy to walk on barefoot, not slippery when wet, doesnt absorb water. As @benfish909 said its jetski material. Did...

    21' Holiday Rebuild

Been looking at a bunch of stuff like the hydro turf. All off brand but never heard of that stuff. Trying to do my boat with the fake teak look including the floors, gunwales and bow. You can seriously climb in and stand on your splash well??? Thats impressive. Havent beefed mine up but id...

    1974 Starcraft Jetstream

When I couldnt find a rivet or screw that was hiding Id pull from an edge gently and if it didnt give a bit then theres one within a foot or so of that spot. If you cant find it use a flashlight to shine into the crevice and see where its hiding. If they can build it, then you can take it...

@benfish909 lol the whole bottom of my boat on the outside hull is covered in coat-it (same thing). I think its just a waste of material more than anything.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

@SHSU that is a good point! The holes on the bottom of the hull have a few double drilled as well. Hoping an external plate helps too. What i end up doing depends on if i can get to a metal shop before he works on it. Lots of work to do and im leaving town!! Will try to hit up the metal...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

@benfish909 I like that idea! At the same time upgrade the thickness too. I was reading another forum that said any flex in aluminum causes cracking (eventually). I originally thought maybe a tiny bit of flex was good to save rivets. Now Im thinking zero flex, and knowing how boats hit...
