    1990 Bayliner 2651 resto

A judgement call in the fuel tank as to if it can be saved. Check to see if there is a certification label with the material and thickness. I would not go with any pits that are deeper than 1/3 the thickness. Also see if you can get a glimpse inside the tank for any internal corrosion/pits...

1975 Merc 7.5 thunderbolt hard starting

My 1969 7.5 Mercury is a '5 pull' start, but it always starts. I did at one point have to fully disassemble the carburetor (Tillotson carb IIRC) and do a re-build kit on it. Also, assuming you have done the primer bulb thing to get fuel up to the carb. I usually have to start the engine on...

Old 9.9 Mercury looking for year made. 0B390028

+1 for 1989 model year. Looks like there is a 'tiller shift' and a 'side shift' version of the motor. So, assuming to are looking to take a 'side shift' and make it a 'tiller shift' (and throttle). It might be easier to get a tiller version of the same/similar motor.

    Trouble getting tags for trailer

I'd double check that with the WV website. Usually, if you have the previous title, there is no need for previous registration.

    Engine Temp

Usually, it is a restriction in the flow of water that causes these situations. I would check any/all oil coolers along the intake path for debris that might be restricting the flow. You can test the thermostat with a pot of water & thermometer on the stove to see at what temperature it opens

Hi guys! Any cause for concern with these cracks ? 2008 moomba mobius xlv

Those would have me thinking twice. The boat is probably fine. Seem to be stress cracks. Maybe better to find a boat that is not so stressed .

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Quick Update . . . A 3.9 foot tide will have to do as the 4+ foot tides are still another week away. I put in for my 'wide load' permit. The weather for next week has decided to go sour, but it looks like Wednesday June 7th will be OK to launch.

    72 glastron/General boat question..

The lower is the typical bilge drain. Generally threaded plugs are best, but if the hole has no threads then an expanding plug will have to do. The higher 'hole' would be a transom well drain. It should be above the waterline when the boat is at rest. That one should stay open so any water...

Mercruiser 6.2 cracked engine block from cold

Yes, if it is the new version of the 6.2, which came out about in the year 2015, the engine is all Mercruiser and not a GM-based engine. Got a serial number to verify the engine? Depending on where you are located, a new engine will be a bit pricey...

Some information, but not much . . . http://boatspecs.iboats.com/Stamas_Yachts__Freedom__244_Freedom/bp/43br1465s4882m31342 Stamas is generally considered a solid ocean-going boat, tending to favor the fishing crowd, although 244 would be on the smaller end of the scale. I believe there is a...

    Curious on selling price

Your boat? Planning on selling? Do this . . . Check NADA (JDPower) for their price estimate (they are typically low on older boats.) Check boat listings for same/similar boats. Subscribe to BUCvalue.com and check their estimate. Those 3 data points should get you to a price range. Combine...

Bravo 3 can you change gear oil line without removing lower unit?

Welcome to iBoats. . . First word of caution . . . don't take off the lower unit. (you'll get a big surprise). o_O As @04fxdwgi25 explained, the oil line is very tight on the starboard side of the bell housing. even with the drive removed and the bell housing detached, it is a tough go.
