Making a kicker motor steering addition

You mean you run both motors at once?

evinrude 25hp painting with mercury paint .

Mercury paint, 'Rude paint, Rustoleum....makes no difference. Black is black. Use acid etching primer and all will be well. Motors don't come clearcoated, so no need to go that route. If you want to, OK. But it won't make the job last longer.

Making a kicker motor steering addition

People don'y have kickers because they don't think they need them. The rest of us know that we do. No commercially available stuff, so,you need to be a mechanic and build it yourself. 3/8" threaded rod. 3.8" poly tubing to cover it. SS QD ball and sockets at the end of the rods, attached to...

    Anti-Rattle solutions

The drawbar sticking out the back is a pita. I remove it after each outing. Besides, it all rusts in the Winter. I don't have time to drill holes, weld nubs and such. That's also a pita. The anti rattle kits are fine. I keep a small wrench in the trunk and the kit installs in less than 10...

    Hydrofoil

I agree. Smart tabs are the best alternative. But just remember you will need to drill 16 holes in your transom, so you better do a lot of R&D to figure out how to do it safely and secure all the holes. If you're talking about an older boat that may already have a rotten transom, proceed with...

    Fishing boat with cabin.

Based on my experience, the boat you listed in your first post would be a good choice. That is, for the fishing you outlined. Sleeping overnight would be workable (I personally did it for years), but after 20 years MY lady said no more.....LOL. Its really cramped. You need to like coziness...

    Identify a hose

If you don't have a camera, specify the length, color, diameter and EXACT place it emanates. Not rocket science.

    Fishing boat with cabin.

When my son was single he bought a Cuddy so he and his girlfriend could stay overnight at secluded beaches. After marriage and kids he said that was a bad mistake and traded it for a 23' Open bow. New Cuddies are almost non-existent these days, and even express cruisers now have smaller cabins...

    Identify a hose

Would that be "near the prop"? What does "jay" mean?

    Anti-Rattle solutions

I bought a HitchRider HitchVice and it worked so awesomely well that I bought a second one for my other car. Absolutely NO rattle anytime.

    Hydrofoil

Hydrofoils fall off if they are the "no bolt" clip on type. Hydrofoils break off the AV plate if they are not installed properly (i.e., loose bolts not torqued to spec). To answer your question, no you can't use one because your lower unit is damaged.

Replacement Gas Cap - help needed

I replaced gas caps twice in past years. I simply perused several boat fitting catalogs until I found the same one.

    Hole shot, or up easy?

That fits me as well. I usually go to half throttle and then when on plane I set it to cruise throttle. Never a problem getting on plane. I have performance curves for all of my boats and I run at the optimum fuel usage. Seldom go at WOT because its usually pretty choppy and there is never a...

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

What an awesome trailer. If they were set up properly to fit the boat's bottom, it should have been a breeze to launch and load. Since your new bunks work to your liking, that's all that matters.

    Causes for concern?

The hole below the transom plug could possibly indicate a rotten transom. The cracked bellows needs to be repaired.....NOW. The boat would likely sink. Fix it before you launch it.

    Additional bilge compartment?

Even if you do all the work yourself, the cost will be in the thousands, and likely more than the boat is worth. Consider that before you proceed.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

Some people want an I/O. Some want an OB. The SeaDrive was an attempt to satisfy both camps. It was a novel idea that simply didn't catch on. Partly because few boat manufacturers offered them.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

The Rotax engines on SeaDoo PWCs are 4-stroke and they are bulletproof. Can't understand why they stuck with 2-stroke now.

    Bow mount fuel tank. Balance?

The 30 mod may make you go faster, but won't impact your problem. My current $18,000 150 Merc went thru her maiden voyage with awesome stellar results. (needed a benchmark) Before ever splashing her the second time I added an Enertia and drilled all the holes for a Doel. Now even awesomer...
