    Just keeps going right

Helped people out with this problem twice. 1. Installed 25” motor on a 20” transom. 2. Showed them how to trim the motor properly. Torque should all but disappear when properly trimmed.

Wiring positive cable from Amps to battery or common on Switch?

“Master” switch should shut everything off on the boat except bilge pumps which are wired direct to the battery Not necessarily. Most switches anymore are “make before brake” switches…the new connection is make before the old is terminated. .

    Mystery bolt found in bilge

I disagree. The pitch at the Major looks pretty consistent. Flanged head, black oxide bolts are almost always hardened, typically grade 8. They don’t stretch, they break. I agree with the others…..the alternator would be my first guess.

If I worried about fuel costs I certainly would not have bought either vehicle….lol Both things are true actually The mileage is pretty close, 1-1 1/2 mpg but the increase in HP is noticeable. What board? Explain Sending unit? You mean the transducer? If so, depending on the model and features, could be anywhere from 3 to 7 wires in that cable.. Try removing the transducer and network cable, if installed, from the unit and try again. If the unit has power and still will not come...

    Fuel for older Evinrude/ Johnson

Two of my three vehicles are turbo GDI. I see a slight bump running 93 octane (compression over 10:1) but gas mileage has held steady since a slight increase after break in. In both cases, your 12% would be roughly 2.2 to 2.5 miles to the gallon. Pretty sure the check engine light would come...

    Fuel for older Evinrude/ Johnson

To what do you attribute this increase in performance given that Seafoam is <95% pale oil and naphtha and <25% isopropanal alcohol?

    Fuel for older Evinrude/ Johnson

Almost 25 years has passed since the ethanol hysteria began yet myths and misconceptions still abound. Ethanol resistant fuel lines have been the norm in since 1986. Highly recommend changing 39 years or older fuel lines prior to switching to E10 fuels.
