Best way to connect 6 awg to 14 awg stranded wire

The reason you can’t find a connector is that the wires are ridiculously mismatched to be spliced From an electrical stand point, the 6 awg wire (13.3) has 6 times the carrying capacity as 14 awg. wire (2.08). At this point the 14 awg wire becomes the fuse. Normally, the 6 awg supply and...

self leveling or motorized trim tabs

I run the same boat Wouldn’t consider self actuating Sizing chart said to use 9 x 18 tab but Bennett suggested 12x12 “classic” tabs to save transom space Works great in any condition. Too much tab if anything

    Removing regret

Lots of misinformation going around on this subject. The federal regulation is as follows 1. Manufacturers are required to install an engine cut-off switch on applicable boats manufactured after January 1, 2020 2. There is no requirement to retrofit a boat built prior to January 1, 2020 3...

Major stores NOW DEMAND I open a full account to buy anything.

A lot happens in the 3 seconds it takes the algorithm to verify your payment method ;) Can’t remember the last time I was asked to “make an account” to buy or do anything. Probably do 85% of my on-line shopping through my Amazon Prime account. Use PayPal for the others What company are you...

    Livewell design

Not a fan of valves on a bait well. I have a 3/4" scoop intake in front of a seacock and pump (800 gph) on the bottom of the hull. The scoop intake eliminates priming issues and circulates water while at rest. No need to run the pump if running or anchored up. Pump runs to 3/4” spray bar...

Major stores NOW DEMAND I open a full account to buy anything.

The validity of the card is not the issue. It’s who authorized the purchase. “ Card present transactions occur in-store, where the merchant can review the identifying documents of the cardholder for legitimacy and take other security steps, like using a chip-enabled card terminal, to further...

How/where to put in a stereo in my (new to me) Triton 175 fishing boat?

FYI...... Know a guy who was an acoustics Engineer for the Navel Research laboratory who was also a Charter Boat Captain. Shared some recordings of a group of guys fishing in a boat above him. In 70' of water, music and voices sounded like he was sitting in the boat with them. Foot steps and...

Major stores NOW DEMAND I open a full account to buy anything.

This is a two way street..companies would be very stupid to ship a product to an unknown entity using an unverified credit card.

    Trailer fit?

In reality it doesn’t matter one bit. The weight of the boat is concentrated at its center of gravity. With cg directly over the axle, the back of the boat weighs nothing. Reason why you move the cg towards the hitch to create tongue weight.

If you have cable steering, check the nut where the cable connects to the helm. I had something similar and the nut was a turn and a half loose.

Opinions on 2005 Hydra Sport 23’ WA

Then your looking at a 300 hp motor Normal anymore. 3-4k before you get into the “high” mileage scenarios. Have a buddy with a couple of Honda 225 pushing 5K hours. Motor don’t die from use…. They’re killed by neglect and or abuse It’s a Yamaha specific issue. Early 2000s Yamaha had a “dry...

Opinions on 2005 Hydra Sport 23’ WA

The price is high for a boat that age, at least compared to my local offering A little under powered. A buddy has a CC hydra Sport with twin 150’s. Complains should have gotten twin 175 A F225 with 1050 hours is barely broken in if taken care of. Has the exhaust corrosion issue on the motor...

O Be careful if you really need a 10 micron filter. Seen quite a few filters advertised as compatible with the 13-S1 then sell you a 15 micron filter Wally World ad 🛠️This 15 Micron Fuel Line Filter is a universal fit for 1/4 inch ID fuel hoses, making it a compatible replacement for Kohler...
