    On where, I prop 2 strokers at the top or a tad above depending on the engine. On 4 stroke pushrod engines I would probably set it in the midrange with the average load carried in the boat. Doing what you suggested will improve you hole shot and get up speed for water toys.

    Well sir you went to a lot of work and it appears that you have a general purpose low cost aluminum, maybe OEM average performance prop. Any prop that has any pazazz, has multiple angles on the blades, aka a "complex" pitch/rake so attempting to calibrate would be best done by a design...

    My opinion is that 18% slip isn't all that bad if you have a deep V with significant dead rise of the hull at the transom, with an I/O engine, with a lot of weight to be carried....folks, gear and all. If you are carrying a large wake at WOT and best trim you have what I am talking about.

    Most common is mounting on the transom of the boat. Some mount inside the boat just in front of the transom. Some are through hull which you can find by looking for a round disc (usually) type "plug" up under the hull, probably near the stern.
