    I received the 1/4" foam today. I'm going forward as a backer for the perforated vinyl. @zool the foam helps to eliminate any imperfections either on the exposed fiberglass interior or on the template I make. Probably go back and do the 1st one after I see how this comes out. Pics coming...

    Ok I had the same problem, seems covers like that hatch type fail all the time. I put in a new deck without a hatch access. Just didn't want to do this again. Take accurate measurements for future use if occasion needs to access whole tank.

    You don't need all that {etching primer} if you are just roughing up the surface to prep paint. That's for when you get to bare metal is all.
