Johnson 1988 vro 225 hp fixing up a Frankenstein

Yes though unfortunately they are all shown threaded. I guess I'll take a shot with the one shown for fit. On another note parts started arriving so got some time in breaking down the reeds. Appreciate your help.

Johnson 1988 vro 225 hp fixing up a Frankenstein

My confusion is the part reference shows them threaded. I want to replace whereas they are not checked or filtered. Anyone with further insight appreciated. Check Valve and Filter Assembly 0392988

Johnson 1988 vro 225 hp fixing up a Frankenstein

I started working on this motor this summer. Hasn't been wet for about 5 years. Running high on idle @2500 rpm on hose. Chased out some air leaks etc. Pulled carbs, hoses, gaskets to manifold. The primer fittings below had no threads at all and were tapered as if "push in." The ports were not...

    Steering pin replacement

YUP. Age is usually the culprit thats sitting on a shelf for 20 years not the duplicated returnable part. JMHO. Brand new and built to specs. You're paying for something that's been sitting around for 20 years. Tooling has since changed alot from yesteryears.

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

The issues are mostly at carb 2 top left. Reed seems to be ok my minds eye wanted it to be so obvious. What I have found is the most small prime fuel lines are rotted/soft and had no straps on them. I'm finding blocked ports and drain holes on reed side of work. My idea of buying reeds prior to...

I def. understand relying on well known marine vendors. The issue I find is that the pricing is usually so gouged out of proportion. Buy 3 Same part, returnable vs. $39.00 vs. $100.00 ...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Got busy on outboard. Chased out an air leak behind carburetors plate. Got into the reeds also. So new reeds, gaskets and rebuild. Carb 2 wouldn't stop spitting out some fuel. Ended up going with the Boyesen reeds #166 for replacement. Some interior cuddy fabric. too.
