    So beating a dead dog in regards to the teak. Final install, multi trimming, sanding and Watco teak oil. Looks acceptable to me. plugs added. add'l sanding etc. Oh yea..No other tools other than a sander, jigsaw, drill and plug cutter.

    So I fitted the teak and here is how it looks. It's definitely not very spectacular so here it is. I like it but was looking for more effect. May have to roll it across the bow under the windows. Not finished with the screws they will be addressed. Just temp.

    FINALLY ok with the teak wood border. Cut fit, cut fit, sand , cut fit. And I am without a doubt a wood non-carpenter. Meaning if I can do it anyone can. Teak is a challenge based on it's oil content but doable. Joints were done with EEEppooxxyy and I did end up doing a pc. of glass on the back...

    Geez... That looks really nice Zool. How did you mount it to the floor? What goes on top? You'll catch alot of perch with that set up for sure! Looking back at the pick looks like even God approves!

    Well Bruce I am going back to 3rd shift next Mon. I like that shift. Plus I have all the mornings back to me when I get home in addition to 4/10's. You will be seeing much more of me soon enough. PS... As always thank you for the encouragement.

    Wow.. Looks great. I mean clean as glass. Looks like you could just go right over it with glass and be done. PB is a good precautionary prior to glassing. Only you can see the nicks and grind outs.

    Cut and fit the last leetle pc. of teak. I'm digging the way this is coming out. Giving me a kick to jump start back in dasboot.

    Nope drop the concept. Doesn't work is all. If you were making a form out of foam ok... but then for strength you would need like 12 layers of glass. You seem to be always Dinking and thats a good thing!

    Nothing wrong with your comments, all good. I favor EEppoooxxxyy as my glue of choice too. I recommend finishing with what you start with. Poly is fine.

    Get to a clean base, use your poly and stick with 1708. Non-issue. :}

    Basically its just excess resin that has cured at a high temp then the temps make a fracture like you are seeing. Underneath will be fine just grind till your happy then throw some glass over it if you want. Factory boat guys are slobs. In my case I cut grinds into it and chiseled it out then...

    Looking at the pics I realized I did not show the template with the wood. Got back on it today and started more fitting of the teak. Eppoooxxy cured nicely. Still have to add a smidge of teak to top, cut to fit and get ready for install. Tried to fit other side with cut wood but seems not to be...

    So I began reworking the teak. My original template of cardboard I determined was too soft and actually flexed off cue. Redid the template and backed with wood. Based on that I worked the teak and glued wood back together. Plus my sons bbq bday today so running all over.

    I have seen those too but with a wire thru the plug attached to the faceplate so you don't lose it as easily as I probably would.
