    It moves by hand. Just a lot of mass to move I suppose. yes new style bearing. Pricey bugger and it was a bear to install.

    Alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive. I rebuilt my outdrive. Replaced the steering pin( top bushing as well) torqued to spec. Replaced the lower bushings too. After putting it back together it seems a bit stiff. Clearance in he lower pin is correct. I can move it by hand but it seems a bit tight. Is this...

    1990 Bayliner 2651 resto

    Update 10-15 cleaned up and painted Y pipe. resurfaced the mating area. It was a bit rough. Happy with how it turned out. Did a dry test fit with the outdrive on the transom. Hole alignment was close. Not spot on. Had to do some over sizing of the holes. Sorry no pics.

    Trim cylinder hose replacement

    If you haven’t reinstalled the cylinders I’d replace the seals. seal kits are cheap and the job is relatively easy. If you had water in there from the start its gonna be in there int the future. good luck.

    Thanks kcassels! Baby steps I installed the floor back in the aft cabin. I used thickened polyester and chop strand fibers to add strength to the resin.     Putting things back on the boat

    Just about ready to start reinstalling trim tabs. I’ve epoxied up the old holes. Now it’s time to redrill and put things back. What’s the best way to seal the screws as I reinstall? Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Not sure you need seal with old timers or Thompsons. never heard anyone doing that. just be sure to saturate the wood with resin prior to installing. That will seal the wood just fine.
