Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

I've followed both your threads and you have my admiration regarding the catastrophe your dealing with. I believe the excess grease would end up in the bilge. I have a coupler like that but darn near impossible to get to.

Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

I don't see how grease from the coupler could get past the gimbal bearing and into the bellows.

What is the cause of only getting 75% power at full throttle , but 100% with a bit of choke .

It's running lean and choking it improves the mixture. Carb needs cleaning most likely.

1995 Searay 5.7 GM winterizing mods..

I could deal with it if it were just the fuel, but as you know, everything else has gone up with it and me being a retired old fart with a fixed income is feeling the pain.. I've had good luck with JB weld in many applications over the years. I patched up a freeze crack on an old log style...

1995 Searay 5.7 GM winterizing mods..

It stands a bit proud inside the tube but this boat is in fresh water so it will probably hold up for a while. If it rusts out I will try a plastic connector.

1995 Searay 5.7 GM winterizing mods..

I'm not set up for heavy lifting, heck I don't have a space flat enough to park the trailer where I live. I suppose the engine will be pulled someday but not this year. I'll give the Jb weld a try and hope it holds up for a few years then if I decide I like this boat I have a farmer friend who...

To fuel filter or not. 3.0

Been an interesting read. No expert here but I will always have a canister on any boat I own. I'm familiar with what a slug of water does.

1995 Searay 5.7 GM winterizing mods..

Looks like it's time to get out the old JB weld. I was attempting to install a brass ball valve in the block drain and found the threads stripped in the block. I ran a tap to clean it out but no joy. I can barely get my hand to the area so drilling is out of the question. My plan is to glue a...

    Electric Cars or Trucks

The F150 lightning has gotten my attention. 350 miles per charge ain't too bad if you put a portable generator in the back just in case.

Do older aluminum boats have the same issues with waterlogged foam?

I'm just rambling and have no facts about it but my thoughts are any foam in a boat has a good chance of getting soaked no matter what the hull is made of.

    Hearing Aids anyone ?

I have a horrible case of tinnitus but have always thought that a hearing aid would not help the jet engine in my head. Have they helped you? I could really use some relief.
