Are Boston Whalers as prone to waterlogging as other boats?

A lot of haters on here. Go to Facebook, Everything Boston Whaler , you will get honest answers there. Yes 99 % of Whalers have some sort of water in the foam . It's not the end of the world .

No power to fromt of boat

You have confirmed the battery is good , even a " new one " . So you put the test light on the battery and it lights up ?Then you go to the other end of the same cable ( at the console hook up ) and there is no power at that terminal ? This is what you seem to be writing. Don't assume anything.

No power to fromt of boat

" Just replaced the battery " I would start by making sure you did not miss a wire being hooked up. Next I would take a test light and see if I am getting power to the control panel / fuse / relay box .If no power , back trace it from there. A simple cheap test light is a good thing to have in...

    all motor no prop

Odds are your prop hub is spun. Might not be able to make it spin freely by hand. Put a mark across the shaft and hub. Fire it up and drop it in gear and give it a shot of gas. Lines dont match up ,spun hub . Or drop your spare on it and see what happens.

    Air condition not working

Check all the spaded terminal connections, mine were crusty ( fridge ) and by doing that it started working on 110 again.. tampabaymarina.com has all parts for that Cruisair . Had to replace board and controller was around 400 if I recall correctly. My problem with that vs fridge.was it wasn't...

    2001 Chaparral 230 SSi vs. 2007 SeaRay Sundeck 200

Sea Ray's are the most over-rated boats built. They are mass produced and will cut corners wherever possible. A step above a Bayliner. They are very good as far as marketing goes , your a case in point with your thoughts on a " Sea Ray " . Get the biggest boat you can fit , afford , trailer...

Lot more new boaters and large wakes?

Lot of bitchin about people using there boats for there intended purposes, could be wake boarding or just a party barge. Generally speaking if you want smooth water you are on the water by 9 and off around lunch time. Then back out after 5-6 when the majority of newbies head back to the ramp...

Airmar Splice kit , Google that and I see them.from.19.00 and up .I would stick with the Airmar brand.

Question about Eagle Fish ID II

If the cable is easily accessible you could just solder the wires back together. They are a very small diameter so trying to put terminal ends on them may be a challenge vs small wire twist / solder / actual coupler made for it.

Question about Eagle Fish ID II

The cable can be spliced back together. I believe Airmar make a coupler/ splicer for that.(30-35.00) wires are all color coded I used one recently and it works flawlessly .

Understanding Moisture Readings on a Marine Survey?

I would be very surprised if the hull itself ( not the transom ) along with the topsides is cored as in it should be solid glass. Sometimes the gunwales are cored where fishing gear gets installed that's about it. So how is he coming up with moisture content at all in those areas ?

87 Chris Craft I/O sources of water intrusion?

Shift cable bellows was also checked ? When was the last time these two bellows were changed ? The best way to check your main bellows is with your fingers , which means pulling the boat and popping the drive off. Your flashlight and mirror techniques are not quite 100 % accurate for various...

    Thru Hull Replacements

Is it a salt water boat kept year round in the water ? Is it a northern fresh water stored under tarp / shed for 8 months of the year boat ? There is a difference between the two. No doubt it may be overdue, especially if you don't know if or when they were swapped out by previous owners.

    Someone educate me.

Generally speaking the Pursuit is more of a pure fishing boat ( usually less beam for getting out in the rough stuff) vs the Tiara Which is more of a keep the 1st Mate happy with the cabin which is more spacious than the Pursuit . Both very well built and they command a high resale dollar.

Looking at a Wellcraft 3700 Martinique

They do make different HP configurations with the 7.4 so that is a factor. Your fuel burn is pretty much 1.0 mpg at cruise and drops further if your right hand gets heavy on the controls. Have a 32 x 13 ( 15,000 lbs empty and 20,000 under normal operations) lwith Tower and 454s. Doesn't matter...
