    1984 force 125 spark issue

Just check the resistance (Ohm) for the trigger and stator are not 100% they are good. The DVA voltage output from the stator and the trigger give you the answer if they are good or bad.

Can I use this spark tester in cdi?

It may not be able to broke but why take a chance. To ground the other cylinder is an easy fix.

Can I use this spark tester in cdi?

If you have two of those spark tester then it is okey (BTW there are multipel cylinder spark tester in the market), BUT if you have only one you have to ground the other cylinder (two cylinder engine). There are two alternative, have the spark plug connected to the HT wire boot and ground out...

Can I use this spark tester in cdi?

When checking spark on a CDI ignition system with that kind of tester you have to ground out the cylinders that you do not test at the moment. If not, you can damage the CDI box as it have no way to dump the voltage in the capacitors when it have to.

Chrysler 55 one cylinder occasionally fires

I think Franz Marine will ship to Canada, I live in Sweden Europe and he ship to me. Looking at your prop gap to gear case and it looks like it is not quite right BUT it do not have any effect at the OB performance as these Chryslers do not have any exhaust through the prop. It is just cosmetic.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Yes, ground the wire connected to the thermo switch and the buzzer should go off. If not check the wiring and buzzer are okey. To check the switch you have to heat it up.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

The regular thermo switch on/off I put it in a can with water and put on a stove and a thermometer. With a VOM connected to it and check resistance you can see when it closes. It is not an easy check but it will work, at least for me.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

I prefer a horn or light and I always check the water flow when starting and when I cruising. Always check when cruising is a bit troublesome but it is worth it!!!

Franz Marine will have seals for the LU. All seals and o-ring are available except the seal for the shift shaft at companies that sells bearings, seals, power train stuff and other machine related details here in Sweden. I suppose they are in the US too.

1990 force 125 shift bellow leak

Yes that bellow act as a seal for the gear case. This was a bad design from the Force engineers and they changed it to a regular seal later. They are N/A as you state, maybe Franz Marine still provide a replacement as he did in the past. The replacement is expensive and a R/R stuff. You can try...

    1984 force 125 spark issue

You can troubleshoot these ignition system with a VOM and a DVA adapter. If you are handy you can build your own DVA adapter it is very easy. It contains a resistor, a electrolytic capacitor and a diod. Google DVA adapter and you get the schematic for it. Go to Outboardignitiondotcom and you...

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Yes exactly what Topgun3690 says, use those cheap filter such as Fram G2 and other brands. BTW Fram is a good brand in my opinion, they make good oil filters for cars and these fuel filter are very good stuff.

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

I am a bit puzzled, have never seen that typ of cover but it looks like it is broken. I can not determind that. Maybe jerryjerry or pnwboat will chime in.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Change the fuel pump diaphragm and put a clear cheap inline fuel filter between the fuel pump and the carbs. This is cheap stuff and useful. With a clear filter you can see if fuel is pumping to the carbs the troubleshoot from there.

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Looks like that is a part of the cover and it has broke from the rest of the cover. The cover has a grove for an o-ring and the two seals #18 and 19 are seated in the cover too.

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Part number 18 and 19 are seals. 18 seal for drive shaft to water pump housing and 19 seal for drive shaft to gear housing.

    1997 Force 90hp Stiff steering

Remember if you are searching for parts that Brunswick (Mercury) started to put more and more Mercury parts to the Force from 1993-94 and up. Major of the parts was the ignition system and gear cases.

Chrysler 55 one cylinder occasionally fires

I use a larger screw driver or a small crowbar and wedge it between the flywheel teeth and the starter gear teeth. It has always worked out to loosen the flywheel nut.
