Bayliner or Starcraft? V-6 or V-8? Is 20' Too Large To Launch In Fresh Water River (Willamette)

If you have a link to the boats that might help " us " give you better advice. As mentioned Bayliners of that era are known to have bad stringers among other things. Hours on motors and where they have been used can be a help. If boats are located at someone's house take a look around when you...

1990 Sport Craft Fishmaster 232 Manual

Not going to find a manual for that make of boat. Although you can get a dedicated engine manual , there is a engine section on this site that will give you the same info as that manual. Best just to post up here with any questions you have.

    Name this boat

Just get the hull ID off it ,that will tell you who MFG it. Located on the upper right corner of transom . Sort of looks like a Carlson or maybe it was Glaspar that made a hull like that .

Need help finding new boat max 8.5 beam

Sounds like you have zeroed in on what you want and I also assume your after a I/O not a straight inboard as you stated . So unless you broaden your search/criteria there probably isn't much that " we " can suggest.

    Water under floor somewhere

As far as the boat pulling one way or another , the rudders are joined together with a "tie rod " that can be adjusted. Every inboard boat I know of requires them to be adjusted so there's maybe a 1/2" of toe out on each side . Try Googling it . I suspect for some reason your rudders are not...

    Tahoe boat question.

After watching the video there is really no comparison , Tahoe hands down, and it probably has a higher resale value in the long run. Oh and its made in the USA vs Mexico.

    Tahoe boat question.

Personally I would be looking at a 18' hull. Regardless of make the 16' will not ride as nicely as a 18'. From what I have read [not experienced first hand , ] the Bayliner has come a long way from when they deservedly got there bad rap from. Not sure of the Tahoe is under the same umbrella as...

    5.7L V8 Engine lock/clunk problem

Did you find the problem ? If not what i would do , ( not sure what position you are in financially ) , is buy another starter . At this point in my life I have a lot of back up parts , dont like waiting or searching around on a weekend or whenever I feel like heading out. Blowers , pumps ...

    Transducer interference

Dont know how rivets could cause interference when your not moving for 20 minutes as you stated. Most units have a transducer selection in there menu , do you have the correct one selected ? . I would be calling Lowrance or googling for more info. My Furuno and Simrad on different boats " lose "...

    GPH Question

Fuel flow meter is what you need . Way to many variables to even get into . The odds of someone having your exact setup and being on this forum are astronomical. Sorry but this is probably info that you will have to find on your own.

    Fuses

Should be on the other side of the "dashboard " if not trace the wire from the switch. Did you run a continuity test on the bulb itself or clean the contact points on light assembly ?

    What's too old to consider?

I think you meant anything newer than 1992 . The GW is known for having bad transoms , possible stringer issues and gas tanks replacement as well. So buyer beware , survey should be done depending on your hull knowledge. Facebook has a Grady Life- Grady White Owners Club ,,,Grady White Only...

1964 California Boat Company 19’ Californian

Doesn't get any better than having a J B Hargrave hull . Hatteras was one of the many lines of boats he designed.......If your bullet is cracked but not destroyed have you thought about having it welded ? I have seen it done before and turn out as good as new.

    SeaDek

If the boat has a fiberglass diamond grip deck I would not cover it.

Does This Trailer Look Big Enough For The Boat?

After making sure that aprox 10% of your weight is on the trailer hitch I would cut the excess bunks off at the transom with maybe a inch or two extension to keep any hook from developing on the hull over time while it sits on the trailer. They [ looks like a Venture ] probably make a generic...

    Boat gauges inboard vs. outboard

Since no one else has replied , yes as long as they are wired correctly . Oil pressure is oil pressure ,water temp is water temp ,etc.

    Planing houseboat choices

Hahahahahaha.. 50 ' houseboat with any engine [s ] is not going to get less fuel consumption at any displacement speed , including "incredible fast " than his 33' Bert.

    Plywood cover for open bow

Why in the world did you not listen to yourself and buy a boat with a closed bow ? If you had that thought bouncing around in your head for decades some simple research would of told you ,yes , closed bows are the way to go considering the type of water I am boating in.

    Plywood cover for open bow

What is the purpose of it ? Casting deck , rain protection ,wave protection ? You have a lot of sharp corners on your metal brackets which should of been rounded off at the very least. Exposed bolt heads vs acorn nuts that stop on the head of the bolt is also a good idea. If for fishing platform...
